In the digital reading room of the city library, Ye Qiu finally received a response to the email she had sent abroad two months ago. Although she was ntally prepared to be treated as spam, she couldn’t help feeling overjoyed when she learned that the company was willing to pay her two hundred thousand US dollars for identifying and fixing a BUG.

At the sa ti, the company sent her an invitation to work with them, which she declined.

After negotiating the relevant agreent with the company, Ye Qiu set to work on clearing the BUG. Thanks to her efficient work and impressive programming, the company, wary of offending a cyber powerhouse, promptly transferred the reward to Ye Qiu’s designated account. Both parties also kept each other’s contact information for potential future collaboration.

"Xiaoqiu, co over and try this on, let’s see what you think of Granny Liu’s taste?" Although Granny Liu had taken a fall that wasn’t too serious, her ability to recover wasn’t as strong due to her old age, so she was still sitting in a wheelchair, smiling and waving at Ye Qiu.

In her hand was a pink, youthful style down jacket with a large fur collar that was clearly not cheap.

Grandpa Liu and Granny Liu had no sons, only a daughter who married abroad, and that daughter had given birth to a grandson, not a granddaughter, so Ye Qiu guessed that it was a special purchase from Granny Liu just for her.

Ye Qiu’s heart swelled with a bitter sweetness as she never expected to be looked down upon by her biological grandmother but instead received affection from an elderly lady with whom she had no blood relation.

Granny Liu had good taste; the light pink color made Ye Qiu’s skin look even more delicate and fair, and the large genuine fur collar made her face appear smaller. The jacket fit perfectly, and it was far better than the two cotton coats she used to repeat-wear.

Ye Qiu didn’t reject the old lady’s kindness; instead, she took the opportunity to bring plenty of fruits grown with Spiritual Spring Water from her space to the elderly couple, which are very beneficial for their health.

"Where did you get this coat from?" Ye Mu, Zhong ifen, asked with a frown.

Upon hearing her voice, Ye Xia turned her head and couldn’t help feeling jealous at Ye Qiu’s attire. She knew Ye Qiu had changed a lot in the past two months, but Ye Qiu used to wear either ugly school uniforms or a few worn-out clothes, dragging down her natural beauty’s score.

But today, Ye Qiu was simply wearing a slightly nicer down jacket, and yet why did it seem as if there was a hint of nobility about her?

Ye Xia had seen this down jacket in a shopping mall with a price tag of over five thousand yuan. Even if Ye Mu really liked her, she wouldn’t spend so much money on a winter coat, yet she hadn’t expected to see it on her despised younger sister one day.

As soone in the clothing business, Ye Mu could tell at a glance that the fur collar was genuine, and although the style was simple, it was elegant and ticulous, and definitely not cheap.

"I’m asking you, where did this coat co from?" In Zhong ifen’s view, her second daughter only had a few hundred yuan in living expenses per month. She wasn’t very bright and hadn’t taken on a student job, so it was certain that she couldn’t afford this coat. Naturally, she felt the origin of her second daughter’s coat was dubious.

"It’s a gift from Granny Liu, the security guard Uncle Liu’s wife," Ye Qiu replied calmly.

"You expect us to believe that an old lady with a broken leg would give you such an expensive gift?" Granny Ye scoffed. She knew who Granny Liu was—a pitiful old lady without even a son of her own. Would she have the money to give such a valuable coat to a stranger? How much could Old Man Liu possibly earn as a security guard in a month?

Clearly, Ye Mu, Zhong ifen shared this belief as she instinctively thought Ye Qiu was lying.

With a quick twist of her thoughts, Ye Xia ca up with a wicked idea. Even if she was a bit guilty, the thought of being able to keep the six thousand yuan to go out with friends removed any burden from her conscience, and considering that the family didn’t like Ye Qiu, pinning the bla on her seed inconsequential.

"Second Sister, just admit it. I thought hiding it from Mom and Dad was for your own good, but now I still believe it’s best for you to recognize your mistake." Ye Xia sighed, pretending to be concerned for Ye Qiu’s wellbeing, her face full of sorrow and admonishnt.

"Hiding what from us?" Zhong ifen believed her eldest daughter’s words without doubt and quickly pressed for an answer.

Ye Qiu narrowed her eyes. She knew Ye Xia was up to no good again. Her gaze was exceptionally icy: "I too would like to know what I have supposedly hidden."

Ye Xia was startled by Ye Qiu’s gaze, her heart skipped a beat, but then anger followed. She was the elder sister. Which younger sister would look at her own elder sister with such a hateful gaze?

Without feeling any guilt, she falsely accused Ye Qiu: "Tell , did you take the six thousand yuan Mom gave for my dance tuitions that I kept in the drawer?"

At Ye Xia’s words, not only did Ye Mu, but even Ye Fu also beca unsettled: "You dare to steal money?"

"I did not," Ye Qiu denied.

But in this household, not a single person believed her. One was the eldest daughter radiant with both good character and academics, always by their side, and the other was the second daughter, gloomy and detached, raised in the countryside and not close to them. Naturally, the Ye parents’ hearts inclined towards the eldest daughter.

"You still dare to deny it?" Zhong ifen was so angry she was gasping for breath, "Then explain where this piece of clothing ca from? If you didn’t steal your sister’s money, how could you afford this garnt? So young, yet so vain and jealous, how could I have given birth to a daughter like you, not only a thief but also a liar and unapologetic, had I known you were like this, I never would’ve brought you over from the countryside."

"I’ve already said, this piece of clothing was a gift from Granny Liu, you are welco to verify it," Ye Qiu said with a stern face.

Ye Xia’s heart skipped a beat, but she quickly joined Ye Mu in accusing Ye Qiu: "Who knows if you gave that old lady so kind of bribe to falsely testify for you? They don’t look wealthy, they’d probably be willing to lie for a couple of hundred yuan."

Zhong ifen also felt her eldest daughter made sense and glared at her second daughter who was still being arguntative. She ordered: "Go to the mall and return this piece of clothing, and apologize to your sister, and I will not pursue your responsibility."

Ye Qiu sneered: "It all cos down to the fact that, from the beginning to the end, you’ve never treated as your own daughter. Clearly, it’s Ye Xia who is lying, so why should I admit to a mistake? The clothing was Granny Liu’s kindness, I will not return it."

"You dare to talk back?" Zhong ifen was furious, she lunged to slap Ye Qiu, only to find that Ye Qiu dodged it.

"You dare to dodge?" Ye Mu’s anger escalated.

"Do I just stand and wait for you to hit for sothing I didn’t do?" Ye Qiu sneered in response.

"Get out, I don’t have a daughter like you," Ye Mu bellowed at Ye Qiu.

"Fine, I’ll leave." Ye Qiu scoffed with disdain, "I was raised by grandmother, all these years have you ever provided any living expenses? You neither raised , nor taught , at most you just gave this life, do you think I cherish it?"
