The officers sent out by the police team returned within half a day, each carrying a look of anger on their faces.
Captain Liang sighed deeply: "It seems you have uncovered sothing. Sit down and tell us about it."
"I’ll go first." The young officer Xiao Fang spoke with so indignation, "I investigated all of Ye Qiu’s colleagues and their neighborhood neighbors. As he spoke, Xiao Fang beca indignant, feeling true injustice for Professor Ye. Clearly, despite being so good to his wife and stepson, they showed no gratitude, and colluded with her ex-husband to deceive him and seize his assets—an outright outrage.
Captain Liang nodded: "What about your side? What have you found?"

After listening to all the reports, Captain Liang stood up: "With the evidence conclusive, Xiao Gao, Xiao Tian, go interrogate the three kidnappers. Xiao Fang, you co with to arrest Shen Xiu."
"Yes, Captain!"
Since being released from the police station, Shen Xiu had been in a state of unrest, too afraid to visit the hospital to see Ye Qiu, and constantly fearing the sound of sirens coming to arrest her.
Shen Xiu considered escaping, but with her child, where could she flee? Moreover, the money was still at the police station, and she didn’t even have the fare. She held onto a glimr of hope that as long as Xiao Ze didn’t talk, maybe they wouldn’t find out about her?
But as she was feeling utterly lost, there was a knock at the door: "Open up, police."
Shen Xiu was instantly startled, pacing hurriedly and thinking of a solution, then turned to the window only to despairingly realize she was on the sixth floor.
She stayed quiet and still, thinking perhaps if she didn’t open the door, the police outside might leave after a while?
However, reality often didn’t align with her hopes. Captain Liang had already confird Shen Xiu as the main culprit and wouldn’t be courteous with her. If no one opened the door, they would break it down.
The police were professionally trained; after just a couple of kicks, the door opened. Shen Xiu was apprehended on the spot, and although Shen Huan was still a child, because he cooperated with his parents, he too had to be taken for questioning.
The commotion attracted neighbors from all around, all looking on at the police and the arrested Shen Xiu with shock.
"What’s going on?" Zheng Peipei hurried forward to ask, having already felt sothing was wrong when a police officer ca to question just two hours ago. How could Shen Xiu be taken as a criminal so soon? What had she done?
"Please step aside, we are handling a case." Captain Liang presented his credentials.
Zhang Peipei tugged at his sleeve: "Officer, what exactly has Shen Xiu done? What about Ye Qiu? Is he alright? Ye Qiu is a good kid, you must investigate thoroughly!"
"Indeed, Ye Qiu’s heart is very good. He couldn’t possibly have committed any cri. You must investigate properly and ensure he’s not wronged!"
"Is Ye Qiu at your police station now? I need to get him a lawyer."
Listening to the surrounding chatter, Captain Liang nodded to everyone: "Ye Qiu is the victim. He’s currently in the hospital. Don’t worry, we won’t let any good person down."
"Hospital? Why is he in the hospital?"

Listening to the conversations, Captain Liang finally understood why his young apprentice was so angry. Ye Qiu was evidently held in high regard by others, as they ntioned his willingness to help others and consistently sponsor impoverished students. Captain Liang’s admiration for him grew, vowing to interrogate those people thoroughly and rightfully for him.
The child was the first to cave in, confessing that his dad and mom told him to deceive Ye Qiu so that their family could reunite and live together.
Then accomplices Zeng Hua and Jin Hai also confessed, saying Xiao Ze had approached them with a lucrative deal, promising each of them two million once it succeeded. Thinking it was just a fake kidnapping case, the two gave in to the temptation and agreed.
Initially, Xiao Ze defended Shen Xiu, until Captain Liang and his team produced surveillance footage showing them eting outside a school and a video of their family dining together. Unable to withstand the police’s repeated questioning, he finally admitted it was a fraud case he and Shen Xiu had crafted against Ye Qiu.
As a woman, Shen Xiu was the last to confess. Initially, she stubbornly claid ignorance, until confronted with the sa footage shown to Xiao Ze, and Ye Qiu accusing her of intentionally pushing him to injury. She couldn’t but admit the truth.
