When Li Gao saw Ye Qiu, his eyes brightened. Although the person in front of him was wearing a shirt and casual pants, he gave off the impression of Young Master Yan Xin, aloof and unworldly.

It was as if no one could enter his heart, and as if no one could catch his eye, as if everything in the world would taint his vision.

This feeling was strange, and Li Gao honestly never thought that there would be soone who perfectly matched his image of Young Master Yan Xin. Or perhaps, it was the person in front of him who had materialized his once ethereal vision of Young Master Yan Xin.

After Ye Qiu greeted everyone, he stood still, waiting for the challenges ahead. But to his surprise, Li Gao stood up, bursting with excitent. The producers and screenwriters beside him exchanged puzzled glances but turned their eyes again to the unique presence of Ye Qiu, so different from the earlier young actors, and began to understand.

No wonder Director Li was so excited. They all knew how long he had been preparing for this drama and understood the significance of Young Master Yan Xin in his mind. Over the past few days of auditions, though many young actors in the entertainnt industry had co, none matched the image of Young Master Yan Xin. Most were superficial, giving off a sense of pretense.

Those with mature acting skills were too steady and couldn’t portray the otherworldly yet leisurely deanor or the cold arrogance when confronting Emperor Jiang—until this person appeared.

The screenwriter rembered Ye Qiu because "Murder Case" was recently a hit. Being an excellent screenwriter within the industry, he had gone to see it. It was precisely because he had watched it that he was all the more interested in Ye Qiu.

In "Murder Case," Ye Qiu played a man who seed introverted and shy but harbored sinister, gloomy thoughts. The screenwriter suspected that even if the final culprit was the sister, the brother would not be unconnected, and the further into the story he watched, the more frightening the brother seed.

Yet, the brother who gave such a chilling sensation in "Murder Case" now exuded a serene presence, resembling an Immortal walking out of a picturesque forest.

The screenwriter asserted that this young man was anything but simple, with limitless potential for the future.

As a screenwriter, he too was very familiar with Young Master Yan Xin, and at this mont he felt that aside from the person before him, Ye Qiu, perhaps no one was more suitable, no wonder Director Li was so excited.

"Take him to try on the costus," Li Gao said, his eyes practically glowing green.

Ye Qiu’s eyes held a glimr of amusent. His old friend was still as enamored with the art as ever—when he t soone he deed a fit for a role, nothing else mattered.

Not asking anything more and directly trying on costus—was he not afraid of the speculative young actors outside? Not afraid of displeasing those powerful talent agencies?

But indeed, Li Gao had that confidence. After all, every drama he directed was a hit. Even with a bad temper, there were plenty of people clamoring to act in his productions.

Ye Qiu was taken to try on costus, naturally dismissing the people outside. Those who had noticed Ye Qiu entering began to feel uneasy, simultaneously starting to investigate his background.

But Ye Qiu had no mind to bother with such things; he was currently donning the costu designed for Young Master Yan Xin in the drama. The makeup artist both loved and hated him.

They loved his flawless features and skin, yet feared they might accentuate rather than complent his look, potentially ruining his appearance.

The makeup artist genuinely didn’t know how to apply his makeup; instead, they feared a wrong move could make Director Li form a bad impression. So, they brought the makeup box to the audition room for Director Li’s direct guidance.

Before the makeup artist could say anything, Li Gao excitedly exclaid, "Brilliant!"

"Brilliant, this is the image of Young Master Yan Xin I envisioned." He appraised Ye Qiu from head to toe, not wanting to miss a detail.

Ye Qiu didn’t hesitate; he lifted his eyelids, and his eyes seed to contain the Jiangshan Society or a sky full of stars, like a black hole drawing in one’s soul.

The look shook Li Gao, and even the producer, screenwriter, and makeup artist were rendered speechless.

Then, his gaze turned null, as if the people in the room were no different from distant mountains, flowing water, gentle breezes, or green bamboo, viewed with an indifferent, imperious look.

"Have you read the original novel?" Li Gao asked, his breath slightly uneven.

Ye Qiu then retracted his gaze, returning to a modest deanor: "Auditioning for Director Li’s drama naturally requires so howork."

"Then tell , how did Emperor Jiang escape his entrapnt in Nanfeng Country?" he continued asking.

"Emperor Jiang was never trapped in Nanfeng Country; it was all part of his plan to coordinate internally and externally," Ye Qiu responded calmly.

Li Gao let out a breath of relief: "Seems like you weren’t bluffing. In that case, let’s call your agent, and we’ll discuss the contract."

"Director Li isn’t holding more auditions?" Ye Qiu smiled, as did the others, all surprised.

Though Ye Qiu embodied Young Master Yan Xin well, this was, after all, the most critical role in the drama besides Emperor Jiang, which involved three actors across different ages, whereas Young Master Yan Xin required no change in actors due to his mysterious background—truly Li Gao’s Bai Yueguang, fixed so easily?

Director Li affird there was no need for further auditions. Based on Ye Qiu’s image alone, on those few looks just now, it was clear his acting would outshine the present rising actors in the industry.

He worried if he delayed signing the contract, Ye Qiu might decline the offer. After all, such distinctive appearance coupled with comndable acting ant no shortage of scripts for him.

"Director Li, I’m currently a lone wolf, without an agency, able to make my own decisions," Ye Qiu chuckled lightly.

"Good, it’s just about ti for a al. Let treat you, and we can discuss the contract over dinner."

In Zhongcai Country, it was common to handle contracts over als, possibly because it made negotiations more relaxed or perhaps because alcohol easily numbed the nerves.

But now, with Director Li valuing him so highly, he surely wouldn’t play any tricks. Ye Qiu simply wanted to use this drama to elevate his fa—all mutually beneficial, without intrigue or rivalry.

It was no secret that Director Li left with Ye Qiu, smiling as they went, since so discontent individuals still lingered around the vicinity.

Seeing their desired role likely taken, so young actors felt disgruntled and began probing into Ye Qiu’s background.

At Deep Blue Entertainnt, Qiao Wenxi’s campus idol drama took the eight o’clock pri ti slot and aired simultaneously with rumors of him and Ye Qiu once being part of a group, with allegations of Ye Qiu acting high-handedly over him sprouting up like mushrooms on all platforms.
