"Are you going to wait for them all to enter together? Heh... I think that’s unlikely."

The person in charge was getting a bit impatient; after all, the whole day had gone by and only one sowhat powerful superpower had appeared. The rest were just small fry who might not even be able to handle a second-level zombie.

Yan Zhouxing was a bit nervous. After all, his Water Elent couldn’t compare to the Fire Elent. He used all his strength to shoot a few Ice Cones, all of which were embedded into the wall. The person in charge frowned, hesitating, clearly not satisfied.

"You’re not quite up to par... We don’t lack water here, so this..."

Before he could finish, the wall in front of him suddenly collapsed, precisely where the Ice Cones had pierced through, neatly as if it had been split open directly.

The person in charge was wide-eyed at the sight.

Yan Zhouxing looked even more startled than him. He turned and noticed Jiang Lai’s faint smile, and instantly understood, quickly pretending to be calm and composed, putting on a show.

"Using water to split stone doesn’t work? If it doesn’t work, never mind..."

"I just misspoke. You can register over there, like him. Next!!"

The next person was Little Eight. Seeing so many people around, she wouldn’t let go of Jiang Lai’s hand. The person in charge impatiently urged her.

"What’s going on? Are you testing or not?! If not, next!"

Little Eight glared at him and then walked straight up to him.

"Bend down."

The person in charge was wide-eyed, hardly willing to listen to her, though he spoke irritably, yet his waist bent unconsciously, as if soone forcefully pressed him from behind. The force was so strong it caught him—an S-Class superpower user—unprepared.

Just as he was about to struggle and resist, the young girl had already placed a hand over his left eye.

Imdiately, an unusual warmth spread from the corner of his eye, calming him down and making him enjoy this comforting flow.

When the girl took her hand away, a miraculous thing happened; his left eye, which had been injured for nearly a year, suddenly could see clearly!

At this mont, the pressing force on his bent waist disappeared, and the person in charge incredulously raised his head to look at the world in front of him. It wasn’t one eye, but both eyes. Everything was clear, even better than before the eye was injured!

The man quickly turned around and drew a sword from the waist of the person beside him, using the sharp blade to view his face.

The scar was gone.

The eyes were open.

Everything was healed!!

He looked at the young girl in front of him, his voice trembling with excitent.

"Was it you? Did you just touch my eye and make it better?"

Little Eight nodded.

She was too used to others’ ecstatic expressions, so she was exceptionally calm.

"Can I go in then?"

The person in charge, hearing this, nodded like crazy and even bent down to speak to her.

"You can, of course you can. Co, co, I’ll take you in."

Little Eight stood still, turned around and pointed to Jiang Lai behind her.

"She is with . If I go in, she has to go in too."

The person in charge didn’t even look at Jiang Lai, just kept nodding, one hand touching his healed eye, the other protecting Little Eight.

"Sure, all of you can go in. If you’re willing to stay, you can bring as many people as you like!"

Seeing the person in charge’s eager and excited deanor, Yan Zhouxing sighed helplessly.

"If I’d known, I would’ve let her go in first. Did we really need to exert ourselves?"

He nodded to Jiang Lai again and spoke softly.

"Thanks earlier, it was thanks to you that I was able to impress today!"

"We’re brothers, it’s expected."

"It’s a pity they didn’t get to see your skills, otherwise they’d be begging you to go in too."

Little Eight’s words allowed Jiang Lai and Lin Yan to skip the examination process and enter the base, and they even got a decent room.

The base consists of six buildings, each six stories tall, with about twenty households per floor.

Thanks to Little Eight, their group moved into an apartnt rather than temporary tents nearby.

Two people a room, Little Eight had her own independent room. This allocation caused a bit of a problem: who would room with Jiang Lai.

Yan Zhouxing sighed.

"Alright, alright, I’ll take the hit. Jiang Lai and I will share a room."

Jiang Chao punched him on the spine, making him unable to straighten his back, too afraid to speak more.

"Three n to a room, Lai gets her own. No problem, right?"

Yan Zhouxing nodded repeatedly.

"I can, even if I sleep on the floor."

Jiang Chao looked at Lin Yan, who didn’t speak, silently reading the book in his hands.

Thus, Jiang Chao assud he agreed by default.

At dinner, everyone finally understood what it ant to go from hell to the Human World in a second.

The world outside the base was desolate and terrifying, dangers lurking everywhere, the slightest mistake could lead to losing one’s life and a grueso death.

But inside the base, it was clean and tidy, lined with tall buildings, equipped with facilities, beautiful scenery. Next to the cafeteria there was even a man-made lake, crystal clear water, with two black swans swimming in it.

The dinner offered a large variety of dishes, combining Chinese and Western cuisine, catering to many tastes.

Yan Zhouxing felt like a mouse that fell into a granary, excitedly piled three large plates high with food while biting into a big at bun, incoherently urging Jiang Lai.

"Quick, quick, there’s milk and fruit over there! Hurry!"

His eager manner drew attention from those around, among whom were disdainful and contemptuous looks.

It was apparent that the people here lived a life of comfort, even their dining and dressing were refined, clearly people of wealth before the apocalypse.

Jiang Chao and Jiang Lai’s parents were wealthy, but not as wealthy as those on the Forbes list, those here had a discrepancy in status, yet never experienced the dire life outside, still retaining much of the elegance and refinent from before the apocalypse.

So it was easy to tell who was newly arrived and who were the original inhabitants.

Jiang Lai, thick-skinned, held a plate full of at, competing with Yan Zhouxing to see who could eat more in a minute.

Jiang Chao smiled helplessly, saying nothing, and quietly ate to the side.

Next to him was a thin old man in a white shirt, eating steak with a knife and fork, with a glass of champagne beside him, evidently a personal stash.

"You guys just arrived, right?"

Jiang Chao nodded, continuing to eat, not planning to converse further.

The old man spoke again.

"Life here is much more comfortable than outside, isn’t it?"

"Mhm."

"Young man, you know there’s no free lunch in this world. If you eat ours, you have to work to repay us. You understand this principle, right?"
