Everyone saw this scene clearly.

"How can there still be soone undergoing a thunder tribulation on this mountain? And it’s a full sixteen strokes!"

"Besides us, who else made a mistake today?"

Yu Fanxin frowned as he looked at the scene on the mountaintop. After hesitating for a mont, he handed the unconscious ng Tao to a nearby disciple.

"You go first, I’ll go take a look."

"The residual power of the Heavenly Thunder is still there, and you are already severely injured... *cough cough*, Brother Fanxin, how about I go with you?"

ng Tao, having just awoken, struggled to get down, but Yu Fanxin held him back.

"I can handle it alone. You go back with them; I’ll catch up after a quick look."

The entire mountaintop was a ss, with black marks left by the thunder strikes etched into the surrounding rock walls and stones. In the center of the mountaintop was a large pit, caused by the successive strikes of the thunder, now precariously perched on the edge of a cliff.

Above, Heavenly Pity Immortal Venerable was about to intervene but decided to leave when he saw Yu Fanxin approaching.

In the pit was a human figure curled up into a ball, motionless as if already struck dead. Yu Fanxin, startled, quickly jumped into the pit to pick her up, bringing her to safety before the cliff edge could collapse.

Her face was completely unrecognizable, but from the vestnt robe she wore, he could vaguely identify her as Jiang Lai, his most detested eldest senior sister, the one who endured sixteen strokes of Heavenly Thunder.

How could this be?

Hadn’t she cleared herself of this? How could she silently endure dozens of strokes of Heavenly Thunder alone?

"Immortal Venerable Heavenly Pity, please wait! Why did Senior Sister..."

"Immortal Venerable Rong Yin has never interfered with you all, yet still managed to nurture disciples willing to shoulder such burdens. The thunder punishnt ant for you was mostly borne by her. Given her noble intent, I find you unworthy.

This is bestowed by to aid her in recovering quickly."

After saying this, Heavenly Pity Immortal Venerable tossed a small jade bottle shimring with colorful, lustrous light before leaving with the Immortals from the Caution Departnt.

The air was filled with the charred odor of burnt earth, and the woman before him was completely unrecognizable; apart from the vestnt robe, only a few fragnts remained on her body, with everything else charred by the Heavenly Thunder. Upon checking her breath, she was barely clinging to life, sustained only by her Immortal Bone to prevent her Divine Soul from dispersing.

Yu Fanxin’s expression was complex, with his inner turmoil surging. An unprecedented sense of guilt swept over him, leaving him unable to bear looking directly at Jiang Lai in his arms.

"I didn’t expect you..."

He deployed mana to swiftly carry Jiang Lai back to Qing Mountain, while the other disciples slowly shuffled forward. Suddenly, they saw a beam of immortal light flash past, with the sharp-eyed among them recognizing it.

"Isn’t that Brother Yu? How can he still wield immortal power, without fear of damaging his Immortal Vein?"

"Brother Yu can’t be compared to us. He was born with superior Immortal Bone, already set to be the future Immortal Venerable. His mana is naturally extraordinary."

Along the way, ng Tao listened quietly to their conversation as she was carried.

Among the disciples on Qing Mountain, she only knew Cai Zi, who, like her, ca from the Mortal World. To enter the Immortal Sect, one must endure nurous tribulations and accumulate rits over several lifetis to have a chance to stand in this place and share drinks with these people.

She understood Yu Fanxin was different, otherwise, he wouldn’t have surpassed Jiang Lai, who had been in the sect for a thousand years, at such a young age.

He inherited the finest Immortal Bone from his parents upon birth, progressing in cultivation with little effort, becoming revered among all immortals.

ng Tao asked softly.

"If Brother Yu is so powerful, what about his parents?"

The disciples who had entered the sect earlier had heard of it.

"I once incidentally saw the Immortal Venerable saluting a man in a violet vestnt, indicating that the other party’s Immortal Rank was higher—that man is Brother Yu’s father."

"Wow, I didn’t know this. I only knew that Brother Yu was different from us; I didn’t expect his father to be even more powerful than Master Rong Yin."

Bear in mind that Master Rong Yin’s own elder brother is the Immortal Emperor, the pinnacle of power in the Immortal Realm.

If soone can make him show respect and salute, they must be of Immortal Emperor level, a rare few who are, like those few elders who established order with the late Immortal Emperor during the chaos.

ng Tao turned her face away, lost in thought as she looked ahead, with her ears filled with the admiration and exclamation of fellow disciples for Yu Fanxin.

"I think lineage doesn’t matter as much; with hard work, we can also be as powerful as Brother Fanxin."

The others found ng Tao’s words amusing and naïve.

"We’ll never catch up with Brother Yu in this lifeti."

anwhile, Yu Fanxin, who flew all the way back, carried Jiang Lai to a room. Looking at the charred figure before him, he was montarily at a loss. Rembering the jade bottle given by the Heavenly Pity Immortal Venerable, he quickly poured all of its contents into Jiang Lai’s mouth, then sat by her bedside, waiting silently as his emotions grew ever more complicated.

He had just entered the Immortal Sect, appointed as the senior brother due to his high cultivation, assisting the disciples in their practice.

By virtue, he had the highest cultivation and was more qualified to adjust the training pace of the disciples, but Jiang Lai, the eldest senior sister, often opposed him, enforcing excessively strict demands and even using force against junior brothers and sisters.

Thus, Yu Fanxin disliked Jiang Lai the most, even bordering on detest.

He enjoyed his freedom, unrestrained and carefree, disliking the strict laws and principles of the Immortal Realm. He felt that cultivation was about freedom and leisure, believing that Jiang Lai’s stubbornness and inflexibility would eventually lead to her downfall.

Yet, most of the Immortal Realm consisted of people like Jiang Lai, using their seniority to oppress those below, living rigidly and aninglessly. It was then he t ng Tao, a novice disciple who had just joined.

In ng Tao, he saw his forr self—ignorant, fearless, without regard for rules. Such people were scarce in the Immortal Realm; she was like a new, refreshing breeze that lifted spirits just by being around.

Compared to ng Tao, Jiang Lai seed even more detestable and rigid.

Yu Fanxin loathed both corruption and those who upheld it.

Jiang Lai was such a person.

At least, that was what he believed until now.

But at this mont, looking at the dying Jiang Lai on the bed, Yu Fanxin couldn’t suppress the unease and guilt in his heart. Though he didn’t think he had done anything wrong, he had to admit Jiang Lai was implicated—she should not have suffered this fate, yet silently bore it alone.

This Jiang Lai seed different from the one in his mory.

The more Yu Fanxin thought, the more troubled he beca. Bowing his head, he rubbed his face, then looked at Jiang Lai again.

"Rest assured, I won’t owe you!"

Saying this, he stood up and went out, returning with a basin full of clear water.
