"Sis, what are you doing?"

"Little sis, why did you bring Dad to this room?"

Jiang Lai gave them a look.

"You’ll know tomorrow morning. Go to sleep."

The next morning, Jiang Lai got up early and stood outside Jiang Hai’s room, waiting. She caught Shen Yan sneakingly opening the door a crack, looking around cautiously before suddenly spotting Jiang Lai standing in the corner.

"You scared the hell out of , you brat!"

Jiang Lai leaned against the wall, smiling slowly.

"Mom, what are you doing? Isn’t your room in the back?"

"You still know I’m your mom! I’m your mom, why can’t I share a room with your dad!"

Shen Yan always raises her voice when she’s guilty.

The sharper her voice, the guiltier she feels.

It’s quite entertaining.

Jiang Lai peeked inside.

"Where’s my dad?"

Shen Yan’s eyes shifted as she replied directly.

"Your dad’s in the room, where else could he be! Go make so porridge, I’m hungry."

Jiang Lai stood still.

"Can’t you make it yourself if you want? I have to go to the restaurant. The whole house depends on now, I’m very busy."

Jiang Lai never says useless things, but whatever she says always has a huge impact on Shen Yan.

Having run the household and lorded over it for more than ten years, now she has to sneak over the wall at night.

And she got caught red-handed by soone like Jiang Lai.

What infuriates Shen Yan the most is that Jiang Hai, that useless man, actually gave up his position to Jiang Lai.

What can a girl do?

If that were the case, he should have given the position to their son back then! Now she wouldn’t have to worry about having no one to take care of her in old age.

"What job do you have? I gave birth to you and you can’t even make a al? Ungrateful wretch!"

Jiang Lai yawned.

"We’ve separated families, don’t you rember? I’m like my brother, we each give you five bucks a month, never treated you unfairly. Now you call ungrateful, so I’m curious, how much do your precious niece and nephew give you a month?"

Shen Yan, with a cloudy face, couldn’t respond, but thinking of why she ca back this ti, she held back her anger for the ti being. It wasn’t too late to deal with Jiang Lai once the ti was right.

"Fine, you go. I’ll make the al myself!"

With that, she closed the door, a slight smile on her lips, and headed to the kitchen.

The aunts in the kitchen shot her odd looks, puzzled that she’d dare show up.

"Oh, what brings you here?"

"Why can’t I co? Sister-in-law, we’ve been neighbors for over ten years, a little scuffle is nothing. We’ll carry on as before, so what are you cooking today? How about you co over for dinner tonight?"

The aunts exchanged glances, confused by her act.

What’s going on?

Did Jiang Hai let her back?

Are they reconciled?

If that’s the case, that’s disastrous!

Can a woman like her even be wanted?!

With a cheerful smile, Shen Yan seed like nothing ever happened before. After preparing a table full of breakfast, she turned to greet them.

"Keep busy, my hubby should be waking up soon."

Once Shen Yan left, the kitchen fell silent, until one of the aunts spoke up.

"She’s probably struggling outside, trying to cozy up to Jiang Hai now."

"Even after what she did, Jiang Hai let her co back?"

"Jiang Hai is unpredictable, who knows. A few sweet words at night probably smoothed things over. What a cursed situation, never a peaceful day for this family."

Once Shen Yan returned, Jiang Hai, Jiang Hu, and Jiang Li were already in the yard.

"You’re all up, great, wash your hands and eat."

Seeing this scene, Jiang Hai imdiately understood why Jiang Lai pushed him to another room last night.

Seeing Shen Yan act like nothing happened, his face darkened.

"Who gave you permission to touch our things?"

Shen Yan’s face stiffened, but she maintained her smile.

"Aren’t we family? Why say such things? Ah Hu, Ali, co get the chopsticks."

The brothers didn’t budge.

They watched Shen Yan perform her solo act.

Jiang Hai couldn’t bear it any longer and stepped forward to drive her away.

"You and I are not family, go, just go."

Shen Yan’s smile froze, her eyes filled with malice as she glared at Jiang Hai.

"Jiang Hai, I was wrong about the past. Can’t I apologize to you? I even talked nicely with Jiang Lai this morning.

I’ve realized now, the kids have grown up, I don’t want to ddle anymore. I just want to co back and live a good life with you, isn’t that possible?"

Tears started to fall as she spoke, her sincere appearance, coupled with her emotional tears, made Jiang Hu furrow his brow, montarily confused whether this was a dream or reality.

His usually sharp-tongued mother voluntarily seeking reconciliation with his father?

Saying this, Shen Yan cast her eyes on the youngest, Jiang Li, and approached him to hug him.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Li, as if seeing a ghost, bolted off, hiding in a corner of the yard, looking warily at Shen Yan.

Hatred flashed in Shen Yan’s eyes.

Her own son, treating her like this!

Ungrateful soul, a bunch of ungrateful souls!

Even so, she held back, her tears flowing more, her face full of remorse and sorrow.

"Mom knows she was wrong before, not caring enough for you, but now Mom has changed. In the end, you’re our family, these days I’ve figured it out, I want to co back and live well with you all, do your laundry, cook for you, even help find daughters-in-law.

Really, Mom really misses you all these days.

Jiang Hai, can you really bear to see the kids without a mom?"

At that mont, the gate of the yard swung open, and Jiang Lai walked in from outside.

The father and sons saw it was Jiang Lai, and they all huddled around her, breathing a sigh of relief as if finding their backbone, especially Jiang Li, who had been frightened, now began to bounce around.

"Sis, you’re finally back."

Seeing this, Shen Yan knew Jiang Lai was sharp, so she quickly spoke up.

"Daughter, you’re back. Here, Mom bought you a cloth yesterday, you can use it to keep off the grease when you cook.

From now on, I’ll be back to cook all the als, so you can have a hot al when you co ho."

Jiang Lai patted Jiang Li’s head, then looked over at Jiang Hai.

"Dad, it’s all up to you, you’re the head of the house."

Jiang Hai sighed, yet his tone remained firm.

"Shen Yan, we can’t go on like this, let’s live separately, find whoever you like, we have nothing to do with each other anymore."

Upon hearing this, Shen Yan’s expression changed dramatically, her endurance reaching its limit.

"Jiang Hai, even after I’ve co to apologize, you’re still so ruthless? Have you already found soone else outside? Is that why you’re pushing away!"
