Seeing lissa’s condition, Logan’s eyes narrowed.
She lay on the ground, bleeding, unconscious. She had fought like hell, and now she was down. Vulnerable. One wrong move and she’d be lost.
"She is going to die if no one reaches her right now." Logan murmured.
He stepped forward wanting to head there instantly. But a goblin lunged at him.
Logan’s ice blade slashed across its chest, ending its miserable life in mid-air.
But that was just the start. More were coming. Goblins. Dire wolves. They wanted blood.
Two groups of goblins, three from the left, four from the right rushed in. Logan didn’t even blink. He raised both arms and flung twin arcs of fire to each side like he was drawing blazing wings in the air.
FWOOSH!
The flas roared outward in a crescent slash. The goblins scread, but only for a mont. Then they were nothing but ash, vaporized before they could even reach him.
"F**k off." Logan murmured.
Both Ronald and Jessi were busy fighting. They also wanted to reach out to lissa but they were helpless.
"How... fast?" Ronald’s eyes widened from afar. Even while fighting off two dire wolves, he couldn’t help but stare.
"That control... even I can’t do that being a B-class hunter," Jessi thought, dodging a charging beast and firing an ice spike at its neck.
Logan kept moving. But those lowly monsters won’t leave him alone.
Two dire wolves pounced from behind him...silent, deadly.
But Logan didn’t even turn. He didn’t need to.
He simply flicked his wrist behind his back.
An ice blade flew out with pinpoint precision.
Shclk!
It sliced through both wolves in mid-air cleanly, splitting them in half before they ever touched the ground.
A third goblin tried to take advantage of the opening.
Logan noticed the shadow.
He spun on his heel and slamd his fist forward.
Boom!
The goblin’s head burst like a waterlon.
Soon he reached lissa’s side.
She was breathing, barely.
Blood soaked the ground beneath her.
"I’ve got you," Logan whispered, stepping in front of her and shielding her unconscious body. His ice blade reford in one hand. Fire gathered in the other.
"Co," he said to the monsters.
"Let’s see what else you can do."
Ronald exhaled slowly. "Is he really just Tier 2?"
"He’s supposed to be," Jessi replied, her voice shaky.
But none of them had ti to dwell on it. The battle wasn’t over yet.
They turned back to their own fights, now with a renewed drive. As lissa was now safe for the mont, they brought their full focus on thinning out the horde of monsters.
Luna soon made her way through the battlefield. Her movents were shaky at first, but seeing Logan standing guard gave her courage.
She clenched her fists. "I can’t be afraid," she whispered to herself.
She charged forward and began casting again...fireballs and lightning bolts turning incoming monsters into a pile of corpse.
All four of them kept massacring the monsters.
anwhile on Gideon’s side.....
The orc was strong. But Gideon wasn’t a weakling either. He was a A-class hunter, a beast on his own.
Even with blood dripping from his upper chest, Gideon’s presence had beco monstrous, eyes flaring like twin flas. His muscles bulged with rage, aura shaking the stone beneath his boots.
The orc struck again.
Its axe tore through the air like a teor. But Gideon didn’t flinch. He leapt upward, spinning in mid-air.
And then..... BANG!
He struck down with a blazing kick on the orc’s forearm. The monster’s wrist cracked slightly, and the axe missed its mark.
Before it could recover, Gideon landed on its back and drove both flaming fists down on the back of its neck.
Booom!
Smoke erupted from the impact point. The orc roared and flailed.
"How does it feel now, you ugly piece of shit" Gideon growled. "You wanted to kill my party mbers?! Now take this." With that his fists flared up, fire engulfing the it.
The orc howled and spun violently, throwing Gideon off. But the mont Gideon hit the ground, he used wind magic to dash back in.
Whoosh!
His movents were like blurs. Each strike ca faster than the last. Flas tore through the air, and wind gave him deadly precision.
The orc backed off for the first ti.
Cracks ran across its armor-like skin. Smoke and burn marks coated its arms and legs.
Its roars no longer sounded confident.
It was angry. It didn’t like the taste of defeat.
Back across the battlefield....
The remaining monsters, all were trying to take down their opponents but they were being pushed back.
Jessi and Ronald moved in sync, lightning and ice danced together like a deadly rhythm.
Logan and Luna fought side by side near lissa’s body, clearing wave after wave of enemies.
lissa stirred slightly. Her eyes blinked open for just a second.
The last thing she rembered was the slash.
Now.....
Logan and Luna stood in front of her, shielding.
"They ca for ...?" she thought weakly, before blacking out again.
The monsters’ numbers were starting to drop.
Less howling. Less screeching. No more reinforcents pouring from the shadows.
One by one...
They began to fall.
Thirty beca twenty.
Twenty beca fifteen.
Fifteen... beca ten.
Ronald stabbed his spear into the final goblin in front of him. Jessi froze the last dire wolf nearby.
The air grew quieter.
Sizzling mana. Heavy breathing. A few weak groans.
But the tide had finally turned.
And yet...
on the other side...
The final roar echoed once more.
The orc pounded its chest and charged at Gideon with every bit of fury it had left.
Gideon didn’t dodge.
He caught the axe head with both palms...flas erupting around his fingers. He roared and drove his knee straight in the monster’s gut.
The orc staggered, blood spurting from its mouth.
The boss was weakening, its stance becoming sloppy.
Gideon huffed, wiping blood from his mouth.
"Looks like it’s finally ti. Let’s end this."
But just as he took a step forward...
The orc’s muscles suddenly expanded.
Veins bulged. Its eyes glowed brighter than ever.
A thunderous shockwave exploded from its body.
Everyone froze.
Even Logan felt it.
"What... the hell?" Ronald muttered.
