While Ali, Noah, and the others were still racking their brains over what to do next, Logan, too, was wearing a grim look. He already knew the truth... Though water magic had proven effective so far, from the sheer pressure that was being radiated from the boss’s next attack, it was painfully clear that his water affinity alone wouldn’t be enough to fully deflect it this ti.
And just as that dreadful realization was settling in...
Sothing happened.
A creature dropped from the sky and landed squarely on the wyvern’s back. No one had noticed from which direction it actually ca. The instant its feet touched the boss’s hide, the mighty wyvern jolted, as if shuddering in fear.
But it wasn’t only the wyvern whose mood shifted. Soone else’s did as well. Not with fear though.
But with sothing far more terrifying.
Rage. Burning, suffocating rage.
And that person was Logan.
Because the creature was none other than the one with the human face. The face of Nolan.
The creature knelt on the wyvern’s head, stroking it gently as if soothing a child.
"Co on now, naughty monster. You haven’t completely forgotten, have you? Do you not rember why you were given the chance to break free in the first place? If you slaughter them all, who will bear the loss that follows?"
And the wyvern, this terrifying monster that only monts ago had been gathering fire in its throat like molten lava to erase everything, suddenly acted like a tad pet. Its monstrous jaws snapped shut at once, the blazing heat within dying out as if it had never existed.
The wyvern boss shook its head as if it understood everything. And then... four more figures descended beside the human-faced creature.
All of them were minotaurs. But these weren’t ordinary ones. Their bodies were massive, their fras sturdy like mountains, each bearing three pairs of arms. Black, grotesque eyes glared out from their faces, dripping with malice.
The mont they landed, the human-faced creature slowly rose to its feet.
"You all know what to do. Begin already."
Its words had barely left its lips before the wyvern reacted.
Hoooaaarghhh!
It howled with a thunderous cry, wings snapping wide with crushing force. The shockwave alone was enough to make Logan, Noah, and Ali stumble, their knees buckling under the pressure.
At the sa ti, the monster horde that had been rushing toward them suddenly stopped in their tracks. As if obeying so hidden command, they turned back, surging back to clash with the hunters who had been running after them.
The battlefield erupted once more in chaos. Hunters froze for a heartbeat at the shift, then gritted their teeth and threw themselves back into combat.
anwhile, Ali’s brows twitched as he skidded backward, his stance breaking under the force of the wyvern’s cry. His body tilted with imbalance, but his eyes sharpened. "Sothing’s not right... That human-faced thing, and the four monsters it brought with it... They’re strong. Incredibly strong. And worse...they can communicate. Just like us."
Noah felt it too. The change in the air was undeniable.
But just as Noah and Ali were still weighing the gravity of the situation—
Whoooosh!
Sothing shot past them in a blur.
Logan!
Even under that crushing pressure, he moved as if nothing could touch him. In truth, he was forcing every drop of his internal energy to its absolute limit.
Ali’s eyes widened as realization struck. He shouted, voice breaking through the chaos, "Aiden, stop! They’re too strong!"
But the words left his mouth a fraction too late. Logan was already halfway to the human-faced creature. He spared not a single glance for the four minotaurs or the wyvern.
There was only one target. One enemy standing before him.
"Today... no matter what, I won’t let you escape. You will pay for what you’ve done," Logan vowed to himself, eyes burning with resolve.
anwhile, up above in the wyvern’s hide, the human-faced creature’s face twisted with annoyance. "Tch! That sa nuisance from last ti. Because of you, I had to answer to my master. Today, I’ll teach you so manners." he spat.
And then with a wave of its hand, the human-faced creature sent two of the minotaurs leaping from the wyvern’s hide straight at Logan, who was storming forward with rage-filled eyes.
Each minotaur who had newly arrived carried a massive weapon. The two that still remained beside the creature wielded hamrs, their grips steady like immovable statues. And the two that lunged at Logan ca ard, one with a heavy club, the other with a massive sword.
Both swung their weapons in midair, blades and iron crashing down toward Logan.
But Logan bent his knees and leapt from the ground leaving a huge crack beneath his foot, soaring upward just as the weapons were about to land. His body twisted and weaved between the strikes, slipping through with effortless precision, bursts of air magic flickering at his feet.
Then... tap! Whoosh!
He planted his foot lightly on one minotaur’s head and used it as a springboard, propelling himself even higher, soaring like a predator that had finally scented blood.
He didn’t even bother with the two attackers. They were nothing but stepping stones.
He only had one target hamring in his head at that mont. Nothing else mattered.
But in the ground, so were shocked beyond words.
"W-What the hell?! What kind of movents are those?!"
Noah and Ali, who had only just regained their balance, felt their eyes widen in disbelief.
Yes, Logan was using magic. But those reflexes, those movents, and that speed, it wasn’t born from magic alone. That kind of motion ca from sothing else entirely.
Both n were flabbergasted.
And so was the human-faced creature. He had expected a bloody slaughter. Yet instead of being crushed, his supposed prey was cutting through the battlefield... and charging at him.
As if it were the one being hunted, cornered under a gaze that promised nothing but rciless judgnt.
