The person who was struck did not even leave behind any remains, directly burned to ashes.
They didn’t want to et such a fate themselves, so they had no choice but to follow the Head of the Wen Family’s orders and set their sights on Jun Lin Hall.
But how could they have known? Clearly, it was Mr. Wen himself who suggested they go to Jun Lin Hall and stir up trouble. Now that they’ve failed, Mr. Wen not only refuses to take responsibility but claims they begged him to give them advice.
Face? Does Mr. Wen even have any left?
"Mr. Wen, how can you say that? Wasn’t it you who ca to us and offered advice?"
"When did we beg you, Mr. Wen? Don’t twist the truth. We may be holess, but we’ve still got brains, we’re not stupid."
The few people stared at Mr. Wen with increasingly hostile expressions, and they were tempted to gang up and knock the man to the ground.
"Mr. Wen, if that’s what you’re saying, then there’s nothing more to discuss. If you want to find that item, go ahead on your own. We’re done here."
Steal sothing? They used to be so naive, believing Mr. Wen’s words, thinking that if they retrieved the item the Wen Family wanted from Jun Lin Hall, they’d receive a generous reward.
But now, given Mr. Wen’s attitude, what sort of reward could they expect? If he didn’t kill them to silence them afterward, that would already be a rcy.
If they didn’t leave now, then when?
"Done here?"
Mr. Wen’s face imdiately darkened upon hearing their words.
They said they were done, just like that? Anyone who knew the Wen Family’s secrets had only two paths: to serve the Wen Family for life or to et a dead end.
Did they think they could live as they pleased and peacefully reside in Wulong Mountain?
"I advise you not to entertain such delusions. If I don’t get my hands on the item from Jun Lin Hall, do you think you’d still get to stay alive?"
He let out a cold snort, glancing disdainfully at the group before him.
"Let make this clear: if you can’t retrieve the item from Jun Lin Hall, the only outco for you is death!" His eyes turned sharp, his voice biting.
"You..."
Upon hearing his words, the group stared at Mr. Wen in disbelief.
They had suspected all along that this man harbored no good intentions. Even if they successfully entered Jun Lin Hall, they’d likely end up dead at his hands anyway.
This man had never planned to let them live, regardless of whether they succeeded or not.
"Who are you trying to scare?"
After a long silence, one of the n glared and raised his hand to point at Mr. Wen.
They had so many people, and they all had a certain cultivation level. Could they really not handle Mr. Wen, who’d co alone to this eting?
If pushed too far, they wouldn’t hesitate to kill him on the spot. Then, they’d just dig a random pit and bury him. Could the Wen Family even find him afterward?

The man standing beside him raised his hand, holding down his companion’s finger and forcing him to lower it.
"Don’t act rashly. This ti, we’re at fault for not completing Mr. Wen’s task," he said, using the opportunity to calm his companions while signaling them with a subtle look.
Now that things had escalated to breaking point with Mr. Wen, it was clear they couldn’t continue working for him.
