Even if they were drenched themselves, they were willing.
"It’s so refreshing, so good, so delicious."
The well-hydrated citizens squeezed out from the giant wooden barrel area, leaving space for others eager for a drink. Then, they didn’t forget to bring their family mbers waiting in line to take their place for water.
The scene was chaotic for a while, and a few of the grain collectors, seeing this situation, burst into tears.
The water was theirs, it was clearly their water, yet they watched helplessly as the citizens grabbed it all. Especially since they couldn’t take it back, because the citizens were catching it with their mouths.
"Get away, all of you, get away!"
One of the grain collectors looked at these citizens, wanting to chase them all away.
But there were so many citizens, how could he, alone, drive them away? Instead, he received disdain.
"This water would end up on the ground anyway if we didn’t drink it. We might as well drink it. Why chase us away? We didn’t scoop it from the barrel."
"Exactly, we just opened our mouths, the water ca to our mouths on its own, what does it have to do with us?"
Listening to the citizens, the grain collectors were dumbfounded.

According to their thinking, this water could be exchanged for a lot of grain, so how did it end up that the water went to the citizens’ mouths on its own?
Things shouldn’t be this way!
"These people are truly heartless. Even if it spills on the ground, they won’t let us have a sip. Why hasn’t heaven struck them down with a bolt of lightning for their wickedness?"
One of the citizens muttered, and imdiately soone next to him cautioned him.
"Shh, do you have a death wish?"
The person next to him looked cautiously at the grain collectors, seeing them busy driving people away, finally breathed a sigh of relief and turned to the man who spoke.
"These guys even the magistrate dares not touch, are you looking for death by talking about them?"
"Heh."
The man scoffed disdainfully.
He knew full well there must be soone behind those people, soone even their magistrate dared not provoke, but that didn’t an they should just give in.
"What’s there to be afraid of? With so many people, who knows who’s who? They can’t possibly co after us, can they?"
"Just in case, what if those people are like mad dogs?"
This was whispered by the person beside him; they only had one life and weren’t about to clash head-on with these obviously difficult people.
So, while there’s water to drink, go and have a few sips, as for cursing, do it more in your heart or when they can’t hear you.
No need to curse them to their faces.
"But, it seems like today is either providence or sothing, these people finally got their couppance."
It’s impossible for so many barrels to leak at once, soone must have been unable to stand it anymore and deliberately sabotaged them, which worked to their advantage.
