If it was him sleeping on that bed, he probably wouldn’t have reacted so quickly and could have ended up chopped into two or three pieces!
"Old Lin, are you okay? Are you hurt anywhere?" he asked with concern.
"No, I’m fine."
Old Lin grinned, responding with a sentence.
He reacted fast enough, but he couldn’t withstand the attacker’s higher cultivation level.
Although the fatal blow was blocked, he was still thrown down, and it hurt a lot. The assailant probably realized he attacked the wrong person in the end.
"Help, there’s an assassin, sobody co quickly!"

As he called out, the Little Prince seed to understand the situation and joined in the shouting.
"Help, hurry, I’m about to be killed, where is everyone?" He didn’t mind the attempted assassination much, surely soone was protecting him.
But things couldn’t continue like this. He was protected, but the ones protecting him would suffer.
Just like Old Lin now, under the moonlight outside, he could see Old Lin’s grin indicating pain. This was still Huayan Peak, and there weren’t many around to protect him.
He had to protect Old Lin, too.
Soon, the guards from the North Desert Camp began erging from their tents.
The first to arrive was Feng Tang. As soon as he heard the commotion, he ca out, rushing straight to the Little Prince: "Little Prince, are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?"
He looked the Little Prince up and down. Seeing no change in his expression, he knew the Little Prince was unhard.
Then he directed his gaze to Old Lin, "Are you hurt?"
"No problem, just a kick, just a minor injury." Old Lin waved his hand at Feng Tang.
That was actually lucky. If he hadn’t paid attention and really fell asleep, it wouldn’t just have been a kick; his life might have been at stake.
"The attacker showed no rcy, tsk tsk."
He clicked his tongue twice, looking back at the bed he had been lying on. The thin blanket on the bed had been slashed to pieces and was a sorry sight.
"Hiss!"
The Little Prince followed his gaze and took a sharp breath in.
He had been too focused on the assassin to notice the bed. Now seeing it, he broke out in a cold sweat.
If he had been the one in that bed, he’d probably have ended up like the blanket, chopped beyond recognition by his own mother, Consort Wen. Luckily Old Lin was there.
Feng Tang glanced over and was also quietly shocked.
He thought after the first failed attempt, they would give up on killing and try a different approach.
At least, not try to assassinate again so soon. Who knew they were so desperate, acting despite knowing there were precautions in place.
Is creating chaos at Huayan Peak really only possible by killing?

"What happened? Where’s the assassin?"
The lord of the North Desert Camp also rushed over, accompanied by several guards.
"Little Prince, are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere? Let see." This Little Ancestor must not be hard. Otherwise, he’d be stuck at Huayan Peak for the rest of his life.
