He stepped outside and used medicinal powder to mask his presence before turning back.

He asked softly, walking over to take out a packet of snack from his pocket and placed it in front of the two children.
The two children hadn’t had snacks for a long time. Ever since bad people took over outside, getting fresh vegetables was fortunate.
Seeing the snacks, their eyes sparkled.
Although they wanted to reach out immediately, they pulled their gaze back from the snacks and looked at the man.
“Eat up, Uncle gave them to you. Remember to thank Uncle.” The man affectionately patted the tops of the two children’s heads and encouraged them to eat.
He helped this man, and these snacks were his way of repaying the favor, as finding strangers willing to help now was harder than reaching the sky.
Who would risk their lives to help others, right?
If those Evil Cultivation practitioners found out, not only his head would be in danger but also his two children’s.
The moment the children heard their father agree, they immediately leaned toward the snacks, extended their small hands to grab one piece each and popped them into their mouths, then squinted their eyes happily.
“Let’s go outside to talk.”
Seeing the children eat contentedly, the man smiled with relief and turned to Min Yi.
Min Yi followed the man outside and entered another room. He raised his eyebrows, noticing the room contained only a table and three stools, nothing else.
Was this place robbed? Otherwise, how could a home have so few possessions?
Back with those two kids, besides the bed, there was nothing; it was so empty he truly wondered what the situation with this home was.
Perhaps the lady of the house was no longer around?
“Is this your home…”
“Young master, please don’t mind. In Rock City’s Inner City, such room furnishings are monplace. All the good things have been scavenged by those Evil Cultivators.”
Seeing the doubt in his eyes, the man explained.
He wished he could keep some belongings at home, but it was impossible. Those Evil Cultivators were worse than robbers. They not only took away the valuable stuff but even the worthless things.
They would rather burn everything after taking it than leave anything to us mon people, even though those things rightfully belonged to us.
Hearing this, Min Yi silently cursed ‘beasts’!

“Is it just the three of you at home?” he asked.
“My wife was a maid for a wealthy family. Ever since the Evil Cultivators caused trouble, that family moved away. She thought we were a burden and abandoned us.”
Thinking of his wife, the man sighed again.
Husband and wife are supposed to be together, but in times of hardship, they part ways. It’s true; she wanted to go with her employers, and he couldn’t stop her.
“We used to have an older daughter, thirteen years old, but some days ago, she was also harmed by those Evil Cultivators.”
Mentioning his daughter made his eyes turn red instantly. What could he do, watching his daughter being harmed by Evil Cultivators and unable to avenge her?
