Thomas Fisher went to the study to answer the phone. This was the third ti the phone rang, and only after he closed the study door properly did he answer it.
"You little brat! Where did you run off to again? Why are you not ho so late?" As soon as the call connected, Autumn York’s displeased questioning voice ca through the phone.
Is this even my mom? Opens with calling "little brat."
Thomas Fisher rolled his eyes in dissatisfaction at his mom on the other end of the line, and then replied with annoyance, "Mom! I’m a 28-year-old adult, not an 8-year-old child. Besides, it’s not even ten o’clock yet. You should just keep Dad company and not focus all your attention on ."
He knew his mom was calling to rush him ho, which is why he had avoided her earlier and ca in to take the call.
"So what if you’re 28? In my eyes, you’ll always be a kid, even when you’re 80," Autumn York retorted firmly and then shifted her tone, asking, "Are you with that girl you ntioned as your target now?"
When she asked this, her tone and attitude were significantly better than before.
Thomas Fisher had gotten used to his mom being like this. She would be yelling at him one mont and turn soft the next. He was pretty much trained to handle it by now.
"Yes, I’m with my target right now, so please stop calling and interrupting ." He didn’t hide it from his mom on the other end. His plan was to gradually let her know about this, to avoid any sudden shock when he finally brought her ho one day.
"When are you going to succeed in winning this target? I’m already looking forward to having grandchildren." Autumn York was too anxious, so anxious that she skipped straight to grandchildren.
His mom really couldn’t stay idle. When she had free ti, she just worried about his affairs. Looking back, he should never have let her retire early and leave the company.
With such abundant energy, she should have stayed at the company to keep herself occupied, so she wouldn’t constantly keep an eye on him.
Should he let her return to the company? Let her shine and contribute there again.
After mumbling to himself for a bit, Thomas Fisher replied, "Mom! There will be a daughter-in-law, and there will be grandchildren, but you need to be patient. You can’t hurry love, just like you can’t eat hot tofu hastily."
He was eager to bring her ho to et his parents, and even more eager to marry her. He longed to have children with her for a while now.
But he could only keep his eagerness to himself because she was not divorced yet, and he didn’t want to add any pressure on her.
"Then can’t I at least et her now? If I can’t see her in person, seeing a photo would be okay too," Autumn York knew she couldn’t et her in person at the mont, so she settled for second best, deciding to be content with seeing a photo.
"I already told you last night, when it’s ti for you to et her, you will definitely get to et her. For now, let’s maintain so mystery." Thomas Fisher declined his mom’s request to see a photo. He knew his mom well—once she had the photo, she’d undoubtedly start investigating. There’s no way he could let her see his girl’s photo just yet.
Autumn York had thought she could see a photo, but was unexpectedly rejected, feeling quite disappointed. In her disappointnt, a sudden worry popped up, "Little brat! Your target isn’t married, right?"
Her son’s secrecy seed very unusual. However, this was just her casual guess, the one she worried about the most in her heart.
