Because of the fake pregnancy incident suddenly created by Benjamin Shaw, Alice Turner is completely in no mood to work today. She thought that taking a morning off would help ease her mind, but she didn’t expect that sothing like this would happen.
Her attitude towards work is very ticulous. In her current state, she’s not fit to return to work at all; not to ntion inefficient, she’s also prone to mistakes.
She called to extend her leave for the afternoon and decided to find him to resolve things. If she doesn’t deal with this, her mind won’t settle down.
Alice Turner walked to the roadside, hailed a cab, and headed straight to Shaw Group. This was her first ti going to Shaw Group, and she couldn’t predict what situation she might encounter later.
On the way to Shaw Group, she called Benjamin Shaw again. This ti, the call went through, but no one answered after ringing for a long ti, and eventually, the system automatically hung up. No one on the other end answered.
Alice Turner didn’t give up and dialed Benjamin Shaw’s number once more, but the result was the sa; no one answered.
Stupid man! On purpose!
Alice Turner decided not to call Benjamin Shaw again because she knew he wouldn’t answer, no matter how many tis she tried—she’d just end up wasting more phone battery.
Over half an hour later, the taxi finally stopped under the Shaw Group building.
Alice Turner paid the fare and got out of the car. She looked up at the building, took a deep breath, and walked toward the entrance.
"Miss! Hello! Who are you looking for?"
At the entrance, Alice Turner was stopped by the security guard on duty.
She glanced at the guard and stood in place. It was normal for the security not to recognize her, as she had never been here before.
"I’m looking for Benjamin Shaw!"
Alice Turner directly ntioned Benjamin Shaw’s na, and the security guard was imdiately taken aback. Who was this woman, who dared to call out their Young Master’s na directly?
The guard sized up Alice Turner, who was dressed in professional attire and appeared very competent, "May I ask what business you have with our Mr. Shaw? Do you have an appointnt?"
Anyone who dares to call the Young Master by na is certainly not ordinary, so it’s better to be polite.
"Personal matter, no appointnt." How could Alice possibly have an appointnt with that man? He wouldn’t answer her calls, so whom could she book an appointnt with?
Personal matter?!
The guard had initially thought Alice Turner was here to discuss work because of her professional attire, but he didn’t expect she was here for a personal reason with their Mr. Shaw.
This truly surprised him, and beyond the surprise, he felt perplexed and was put in a difficult position, "Without an appointnt, I can’t let you in. Please, just give our Mr. Shaw a call."
Not knowing her identity, the guard didn’t dare let soone in casually; this concerns his job. Letting soone in carelessly could cost him his livelihood.
"I called him, but no one answered. Is he in a eting? Please let in first." Alice Turner wanted desperately to force her way in but refrained. After all, she’s still a daughter-in-law of the Shaw Family; despite that man’s awfulness, there are other mbers of the Shaw Family she must consider, she can’t tarnish Alexander Shaw’s reputation.
He was just a small security guard; how would he know if the company’s executives were in a eting, "I’m sorry! I can’t let you in, please try calling Mr. Shaw again."
He didn’t dare let anyone in without orders, so he had to ask her to call again. Only after receiving instructions could he allow entry.
