Christopher Turner was quite displeased by Lily Turner’s words, but when he thought of Easton Hols, he could only suppress his dissatisfaction.
"Christopher! Let Alice handle her own affairs. As parents, we shouldn’t interfere anymore." Sophia Wood chid in from the side, supporting Alice Turner alongside Lily Turner, forming a mother-daughter alliance that stood united.
Christopher Turner expected Lily Turner to speak on Alice Turner’s behalf, but he couldn’t understand why Sophia Wood did too and felt unsettled.
She was his wife, and she was supposed to stand by him. They had worked together to arrange this marriage.
"We’ve been too lenient, which is why she’s beco so unruly. She went through with such a big thing without saying a word." He rebuffed unhappily, then turned his gaze to Alice Turner, "You better find a way to remarry Benjamin Shaw soon, or don’t bla for not acknowledging you as my daughter."
The marriage he worked so hard to arrange wouldn’t be allowed to fail.
"I will never remarry Benjamin Shaw." Alice Turner, risking Christopher Turner’s anger, bravely and firmly expressed her true feelings. She had finally escaped that empty shell of a marriage and would never step back into it.
Christopher Turner was surprised, and after the shock, anger surged in his heart, "Get out right now! I never want to see you again, get out!"
He furiously raised his right hand, pointing to the door, ordering Alice Turner out.
"Christopher!"
"Dad!"
Sophia Wood and Lily Turner spoke out simultaneously, both turning to look at Christopher Turner, and then Sophia Wood spoke first, "Stop getting angry at Alice, do you even know what kind of life she has been living for the past six months?"
Her voice was loud, and her tone was heavy.
While Sophia Wood spoke, she reached out her hand to hold onto Alice Turner, preventing her from leaving in anger.
"What kind of life? The Shaw Family treated her so well, but she doesn’t know how fortunate she is. She’s just acting out." Christopher Turner, not understanding the situation, jumped to conclusions, believing Alice Turner was creating trouble and not cherishing her good match.
This ti, Sophia Wood spoke first again, "Don’t speak without knowing the facts. In the six months since the wedding, Benjamin Shaw hasn’t even lived with our Alice, he hasn’t been ho at all, where’s the supposed good treatnt?"
As she spoke, she got more agitated and angrier, upset with Benjamin Shaw’s lack of appreciation and even more frustrated with Christopher Turner’s blindness and arrogance.
"Benjamin Shaw wouldn’t stay away if she treated him well, would he?" Christopher Turner was surprised by what Sophia Wood said, but he firmly believed he was right, and didn’t think Benjamin Shaw was wrong, placing all the bla on Alice Turner.
Sophia Wood’s anger boiled over as Christopher Turner continued defending Benjamin Shaw. Her eyes widened furiously as she glared at him, "How could you..."
"Dad! Mom! Don’t argue over my issues anymore. I’ve already divorced Benjamin Shaw. In my entire life, I will never remarry him." As the argunt between Christopher Turner and Sophia Wood heated up, Alice Turner interrupted them, hoping to prevent their relationship from souring over her matters, which she didn’t want to see happen.
