"Wh-Where are you taking ?"
Lily Turner looked warily at the man driving, a responsible place? Could it be that he’s taking to the hospital for surgery?
She hadn’t figured out what to do with the baby in her belly yet, but she couldn’t bring herself to be so ruthless. After all, it was a little life.
Easton Hols kept his eyes on the road ahead. After a while, he leisurely answered Lily with a single word, "Civil Affairs Bureau!"
As he spoke, the corners of his mouth curled up slightly.
"Civil Affairs Bureau?! What are you taking there for?" Lily always thought Easton was taking her to the hospital, and never dared to think in this direction. She was particularly surprised to hear Easton say he was taking her to the Civil Affairs Bureau.
Easton turned to look at Lily, who seed shocked, and his once-smiling lips fell, "What do you think?"
He didn’t answer her directly, instead tossing the question back to her.
The answer was on the tip of Lily’s tongue, but she didn’t dare to say it because it was too unbelievable for her.
She had texted him asking him to take responsibility on a whim, not expecting him to actually step up, let alone so promptly, and without questioning the child in her belly.
Easton’s lack of doubt moved Lily deeply. She was touched, but she didn’t dare let herself be too optimistic.
She didn’t respond to his question but instead turned towards the car window silently, needing to calm down.
A few minutes later, Lily suddenly rembered sothing and turned back toward Easton.
Her sudden movent startled him as he was driving, and he quickly glanced at her, "What is it?"
"Turn around at the next intersection," Lily pointed at the upcoming intersection.
Easton glanced at her again, his face filled with disapproval, "Why?"
He neither turned the steering wheel nor reduced the speed of the car.
"Aren’t you taking to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a marriage certificate? I need to go back and get my things. I didn’t bring anything when I left." Lily showed her empty hands. She was dragged out by him and didn’t have the chance to bring anything.
Not to ntion her ID and household registration, she hadn’t even brought her keys, phone, or anything. She needed to rely on him to let her in when they got back.
This was her chance to see how he managed to open the door earlier.
Listening to this, Easton realized that Lily just needed to go ho to get her things, not because she had changed her mind. He glanced at her.
He turned the steering wheel, changed lanes, and turned the car around, quickly driving towards her apartnt.
Ten minutes later, the car ca to a steady stop at their destination.
"Grab your stuff and co down right away."
"Aren’t you coming up with ?" Seeing that Easton had no intention of going up with her, Lily, who was about to open the door to get out, turned to look at him. "I didn’t bring my keys; you need to co up and open the door for ."
Easton was montarily stunned but quickly snapped out of it. He opened the car door and got out, accompanying Lily into the apartnt.
Lily intended to learn from Easton how to open the door, but she couldn’t even see what happened before he had already opened it and pulled her, surprised, inside.
