Easton Hols had no intention of going back. With Lily Turner’s family taking care of things, he was quite reassured. As for the morning training, there was no need for him to worry at all.
A night of insufficient rest was nothing. During missions, he often had several days of poor rest, and he was well trained for it. So to him, this was no big deal at all.
"Your sister-in-law is being taken care of. You don’t need to worry about . You should hurry back." He urged his brother standing in front of him once again, prompting him to leave the hospital quickly.
"Well... okay, I’ll take your place early tomorrow morning." Thomas Fisher originally planned to insist on staying, but seeing how firm Easton Hols was, he decided not to stay longer.
"Suit yourself."
"Alright, I’m leaving. I’ll co back early tomorrow morning."
Easton Hols waved at Thomas Fisher to indicate he should leave.
Thomas Fisher looked at his elder brother, got into the car, and drove away from the hospital. On his way back, his mind was filled with more thoughts, making his heart feel even more restless.
Buzzz buzzz buzzz!
Halfway through his drive, his phone suddenly started buzzing.
He slowed down, picked up the phone to take a look, and seeing that the call was from Alice Turner, he pulled over to the side of the road.
"Hello!"
The mont he answered the call, Thomas Fisher’s whole deanor changed completely. The gloom and irritation on his face disappeared, replaced with an easy-going smile.
Seeing him like this now, soone would have thought the fretful person from earlier was a re illusion.
"Did nothing happen on your side?" Earlier, before Thomas Fisher hung up, Alice Turner had heard a loud bang and wanted to ask what happened. But before she could speak, he had already hung up.
The way he spoke earlier was far from normal, and she could feel it through the phone. She waited for a long ti, but he didn’t call her back, and her heart started to fill with worry. Unable to wait any longer, she called to check on him.
There was no way Thomas Fisher would let Alice Turner know about what happened that night. Hearing her question, he quickly shook his head, "Nothing happened. My mom just did her usual check-in."
He said it very casually, but just thinking about what happened that night weighed down on his heart.
"Your mom’s usual check-in? What’s that supposed to an? Why does your mom need to check-in? And at night, too?" Alice Turner was hearing for the first ti that a mom would check on her son’s whereabouts, especially as a nightly routine. From what he said, she could tell that this wasn’t the first ti, and his mom regularly checked on him.
Regarding his mom’s check-ins, Thomas Fisher also found it very vexing. Initially, it was hard for him to accept, but over ti, he beca used to it. Now he could approach it with a calm mind.
"My mom’s afraid I’ll sneak a woman ho." He said this with a mix of helplessness and a playful surprise.
"Seems like you often bring won ho, huh? Even your mom can’t stand it anymore." Hearing so much from Thomas Fisher, Alice Turner finally ca to this conclusion. Her conclusion was half a joke, half serious.
That was the only way she could understand why a mom would need to check on her son’s whereabouts, especially frequently.
Upon hearing this, Thomas Fisher lifted his hand to slap his own forehead. Hadn’t he just dug himself a hole? "Alice! That’s not true, I’ve never brought a woman ho. I’m a very well-behaved person, not that casual."
