As soon as Sophie Snow heard it was Benjamin Shaw’s mother, she couldn’t contain her excitent and agreed imdiately to Isla Lane’s request to et without even thinking.
Forty minutes later, a ticulously dressed Sophie Snow appeared at the teahouse where Isla Lane had arranged to et her. As she entered the teahouse, she imdiately spotted Charlotte Shaw and Isla Lane sitting in a corner.
Sophie Snow found it hard not to notice them at first glance, as besides the mother and daughter pair, there were no other tea-drinking guests in the teahouse.
Charlotte Shaw was seated facing the entrance of the teahouse, so as soon as Sophie Snow pushed the door open and entered, she imdiately noticed her. Watching Sophie for a mont, she raised her hand to signal Sophie to co over and sit.
The woman who just walked in had clearly put effort into her appearance, confidently assuming she was indeed the Sophie Snow they were waiting for.
Seeing Charlotte Shaw gesturing towards the entrance, Isla Lane instinctively turned her body to follow her gaze and only then noticed Sophie Snow walking towards them.
"You must be Sophie Snow, right?" Sophie had barely walked to the table when Charlotte Shaw already spoke up.
Hearing Charlotte Shaw speak to her, Sophie quickly stepped over to Charlotte’s table and stood still before speaking, "Hello! I am Sophie Snow!"
After replying, Sophie’s gaze shifted to Isla Lane, sitting opposite Charlotte Shaw. At a glance, she was sure this middle-aged woman was Benjamin Shaw’s mother, and she promptly greeted her, "Auntie! Hello!"
This woman certainly has the charm to attract n, she looks like a textbook seductress.
Isla Lane shifted her gaze from Sophie Snow to the empty seat beside Charlotte Shaw, silently indicating for her to sit down.
From the mont Sophie had walked over, she sensed sothing was off. Now, seeing Isla Lane’s attitude towards her, she felt a growing unease.
Despite her unease, she went over and sat in the indicated seat.
"Miss Snow! What would it take for you to stop clinging to my son?" Isla Lane didn’t offer Sophie tea nor any ti to adjust before directly stating her purpose for the eting.
Upon hearing this, Sophie imdiately understood why she felt uneasy and hastened to calm her nerves before replying, "Auntie! I love Benjamin, I won’t leave him."
She looked at Isla Lane across from her, with an air of determination.
"You love Benjamin? Ha! Miss Snow! I suggest you stop acting in front of . I’ve seen many won like you." In her heart, Isla Lane had already decided that Alice Turner was the only daughter-in-law she’d acknowledge for her son, allowing no other woman to interfere, especially not soone who looked like a seductress, "Go ahead! What’s your condition?"
This woman must be after sothing from their family, Isla thought.
Sophie shook her head repeatedly, denying it: "Auntie! I’m not acting; I truly love Benjamin."
Whether out of fear of eting Isla Lane’s gaze or because of a guilty conscience, she kept glancing away while speaking.
"Do you really love Benjamin?" Instead of pressing further about Sophie’s intentions, Isla questioned her.
Sophie nodded: "I truly love Benjamin, genuinely love him, not acting."
She emphasized that she really loved Benjamin Shaw and wasn’t pretending for the person in front of her.
