Due to the combined efforts of the three, the atmosphere in the ward was very harmonious and pleasant.
Charlotte Shaw and Benjamin Shaw, the siblings, were eating and chatting with Thomas Fisher intermittently. Thomas watched them eat and chid in from ti to ti.
"Thomas! If you’re not having a al, at least have so fruit," after Charlotte finished eating, she picked a bunch of grapes from the fruit basket and got up to wash them. She quickly returned, handed the cleaned grapes to Thomas, and said, "Make do with this, we can only rinse them with water here."
Once her hands were free, she started organizing things on the cabinet.
Thomas looked at the grapes in his hand and at the fruit basket on the cabinet. Even though he had many questions, he showed no change in expression, "There’s so much, I can’t eat it all by myself. Benjamin! Charlotte! You two have so too."
He’s not particularly fond of fruits, especially grapes. He passed the grapes Charlotte just gave him to Benjamin.
"I just ate and don’t feel like having more," Benjamin wasn’t keen on fruit either. He looked at the fruit Thomas handed him, feeling quite vexed, wanting to return it, but the person next to him had already stood up.
After standing up, Thomas stepped aside, distancing himself from Benjamin and the grapes in his hand, "Give them to Charlotte later. I’m going to leave."
Having stayed for a while, he wanted to check on that work-driven girl at ho to see if she had eaten.
"You’re leaving?" Hearing Thomas say he was leaving, Charlotte put down what she was holding and turned around to look.
"Charlotte, I’m heading out. Please take care of Benjamin for ," Thomas’s gaze shifted to Benjamin sitting on the hospital bed, "Benjamin, what would you want for dinner? I’ll bring it to you after work."
He stood still, waiting for a reply from the person on the bed.
Benjamin waved his hand to hurry him, "Don’t ntion food to now. If you don’t leave soon, I’ll spray you with nutrients."
He straightened up, touching his chest with his free hand, pretending to throw up.
"Of course... I don’t believe that," Thomas replied deliberately loud, and quickly left the ward before Benjamin could throw grapes at him.
As he closed the door, he heard Benjamin shout, "You brat! If you’re brave enough, don’t dodge."
Do you really think I’d stay and let you throw grapes at ?
Mumbling to the just-closed door, Thomas turned and took the elevator downstairs. As he exited the elevator, he took the phone from his pocket and imdiately dialed Alice Turner’s number.
"Hello!"
The phone rang for a while before Alice answered.
"Are you still busy working in the office?" Though Thomas’s words were frad as a question, he didn’t need a response; he already knew the answer.
As Thomas suspected, Alice was organizing files in the office at that mont. Hearing his question, she instinctively nodded, "Yeah, do you need sothing? If not, I’ll hang up now, I’m really..."
"Put your work down and wait for . I’ll be there soon," Thomas interrupted her decisively, originally planning to bring her so food, but given the situation, he suddenly changed his mind.
He decided to pick her up, and together they’d have a al out, allowing her to take a break during dinner.
