Alice Turner knew Thomas Fisher was doing it on purpose, so she didn’t waste any more words on him. She looked up at him with dissatisfaction, then turned and walked silently towards the parking lot exit.
Though it was her first ti here, she wasn’t blind; she could see the ergency exit sign.
"Alice! Where are you going?" Seeing Alice Turner walking silently towards the parking lot door, Thomas Fisher dared not tease her anymore and quickly chased after her. When he caught up, he reached out and pulled her back, "Alright, I won’t tease you anymore. I’ll get the keys for you."
As he pulled her back, he reached into his pants pocket to retrieve the car keys.
"You should’ve just taken them out earlier instead of doing such a childish thing!" Before Thomas could hand over the car keys, Alice snatched them back, giving a playful smirk as she did.
Seeing her playful smile, he realized she had tricked him again; her angry and dissatisfied look was all an act. He sighed helplessly but fondly at her, "Alice! You’re really naughty."
He squeezed her hand to express his displeasure at being tricked.
"No more ssing around with you. I’m leaving." Alice withdrew her hand, and holding the car keys, walked towards her car without hesitation, opening the door and getting in.
Despite feeling reluctant, Thomas Fisher did not stop Alice from leaving. He stood where he was and waved goodbye to her in the car.
Beep!
As Alice Turner drove past Thomas Fisher, she honked the car horn and leaned out to say, "I’m leaving."
With those words, she stepped on the gas, and the car quickly sped towards the parking lot exit.
Watching the car fade into the distance, Thomas Fisher let out a long sigh. Did that girl really have to be in such a hurry? As if he were so kind of monster.
Only when the car was out of sight did he start walking towards his private elevator, taking the phone out of his jacket pocket as he went.
He found Autumn York’s number and dialed it imdiately.
"Did Alice leave?" The mont the phone rang once, Autumn York answered and directly asked.
Thomas was slightly taken aback, responding with a question instead: "Do you not want her to leave my side?"
After saying that, he waited quietly for his mom on the other end to reply.
"Yes! I want her to stay and help you with work." Autumn openly admitted, but her aning differed from Thomas’s; she referred to helping him with work, whereas he ant staying by his side as his girlfriend.
His mom’s words were so clear that Thomas couldn’t help but understand. Right now, he wasn’t in the mood to brood over this, "Mom! You’ve seen Alice, you know what she’s like. Just tell straight, do you agree or disagree with her being your daughter-in-law?"
He watched the elevator’s ascending numbers without blinking, listening intently to the phone for any sound, afraid he’d miss or mishear sothing.
"I need to go back and discuss this with your dad. I’ll let you know after we’ve talked it over," Autumn York didn’t keep Thomas waiting long, quickly conveying her thoughts over the phone.
