Just now when he saw Lily Turner sitting there in a daze without saying a word, Easton Hols knew she was spacing out again, distracted by the fact that Grant Heath’s mom had co knocking. As soon as the three elders left, he imdiately sat down beside her.
"You really shouldn’t be letting your thoughts run wild right now, that’ll make our baby unhappy." He reached out and pulled her into his arms, tilted his head and kissed her cheek, using this way to help her relax a little.
"Honey, am I a really silly person? And not just silly, but the stupid kind of silly?" Lily just couldn’t relax at all right now. She tilted her head to look at the man holding her, her face full of puzzlent and confusion.
At her words, Easton frowned slightly and reached up to pinch her cheek. "Who said my wife is stupid and silly? My wife is so sharp and clever, how could she be dumb? Whoever says my wife is dumb is the one who’s dumb, and stupid."
He wasn’t just saying nice things to coax her. She really wasn’t silly, let alone stupid; she just wanted to live a simpler life.
He also hoped she could live simply. Only that way would she be happy and joyful. Her ti and energy shouldn’t be wasted on all this ssy nonsense; she should save them for living a happy life.
"Honey, I’m finding that your mouth is getting smoother and smoother." Whether Easton ant it or not, Lily felt very happy inside. She raised her hand and tugged at the corner of his lips. "Who trained this mouth of yours? The training’s impressive."
As she finished speaking, she tugged at the corner of his lips again.
"You did, of course." Easton suddenly dipped his head closer to Lily and pecked her lips lightly. "My mouth gets moisturized by yours every day. If it still didn’t learn to talk sweet, it’d be letting down all that daily moisturizing."
As he spoke, he leaned in again and kissed her soft pink lips.
Lily shoved away the man stealing kisses from her and rolled her eyes at him in mock annoyance. "Ugh, you’re impossible! I’m trying to talk to you about sothing serious here. Can’t you be serious for once?"
On the surface she was voicing her dissatisfaction, but her tone and cadence sounded more like she was acting spoiled.
"How am I not serious? I was talking about sothing serious just now too—your mouth..."
Lily suddenly lifted a hand and clapped it over Easton’s mouth, blocking the rest of his words. He didn’t push her hand away; instead, he just looked at her quietly, waiting for her to move her hand from his lips on her own.
Easton’s reaction surprised Lily a little. She thought he would remove her hand, but he didn’t. Keeping it there felt aningless, so she finally said, "Stop talking nonsense, okay?"
As she took her hand away, she reminded him.
"Wifey, next ti you want to stop from talking, just use your mouth. I think it works much better than your hand." Ever since just now Easton’s gaze had been fixed on Lily’s lips; even now, as he spoke, he was still staring unblinkingly at her mouth. His mind was full of the image of her using her lips to shut him up.
Seeing him stare at her lips like that, and afraid he’d suddenly dip his head to steal another kiss, Lily hurriedly raised a hand to cover her own mouth. "In your dreams!"
With her other hand, she removed the arm he’d wrapped around her waist, straightened up and scooted a bit to the side, putting what she felt was a safe amount of distance between them.
"Lily, the fruit’s ready. Just eat whatever you feel like." Lily had just moved to the side when Serena Zimrman walked in carrying a plate of cut fruit.
