Easton Hols paused for a mont, then returned to his normal state. He stepped towards Benjamin Shaw and sat down in the empty seat next to him.
They had agreed to talk, but once Easton sat down next to him, Benjamin fell into silence and didn’t utter a word for a long ti.
"Are you feeling particularly sad now? Especially regretful?" After a long silence, Easton couldn’t hold it any longer and broke the quiet atmosphere.
Upon hearing Easton speak to him, Benjamin slowly turned his head towards the source of the voice. He stared at Easton for a long while before slowly nodding, "Yes! I feel really sad right now, especially regretful. I regret not treating her well back then."
"My mom was right. I would regret it, and now I truly regret it. I regret not cherishing her at that ti, even more regretting agreeing to divorce her." Towards the end, Benjamin’s eyes reddened. He forcefully closed his eyes to push back the tears that were welling up.
Easton had earlier noticed Benjamin’s deep pain, and hearing him say this didn’t surprise him at all. He raised his hand to pat his good brother on the shoulder. "You should forget her as soon as possible, so the three of you will feel better."
His good brother’s sadness made him feel bad too, but he couldn’t just stay silent because of that. He said these things to help his good brother quickly move on from his grief and pain.
Everyone in this relationship is suffering, or else there wouldn’t be one who left without a word, one who uses alcohol to numb himself all day, and one who has beco so withdrawn.
"Do you also think I should give up this relationship?" This wasn’t the first ti Benjamin had heard such words. After Alice Turner left not long ago, Ryan Taylor told him sothing similar, advising him to quit this relationship and forget Alice Turner earlier.
Today he heard Easton say such words again, and it made him feel even worse. It wasn’t that he was blaming his two good brothers for persuading him, but rather, he felt sad because he was regretful.
Easton nodded solemnly: "Yes! I hope next ti love cos around, you cherish it a bit more."
His attitude was direct, and he wasn’t being vague or subtle just because the other party was upset.
Benjamin just looked at Easton without saying anything more. His mood was very down and terrible.
"If you still want to keep drinking, I can join you." Seeing Benjamin’s gloomy face, Easton knew he wasn’t feeling good inside, so he proactively invited him to drink.
Benjamin had drunk quite a bit with Thomas Fisher earlier, although not as much as Thomas. His mind was still very clear, and there were no signs of him being drunk.
"You want to drink with ? Aren’t you in a hurry to go back to your wife and son?" As a lone man, he could return whenever, but his good brother had a wife and son; while he was indeed in a bad mood, he couldn’t be that selfish.
"Not in a hurry!"
Even though Easton said he wasn’t in a hurry, his heart had already run back ho. To accompany his upset good brother, he had no choice but to hold it in.
"Since you’re not in a hurry, I won’t stand on ceremony. Let’s drink together, and we’ll have a good ti today." Benjamin didn’t delve into whether Easton’s words were true or false; he took the wine bottle from the table and poured himself a drink, ready to start.
