After finishing the phone call with Easton Hols, Lily Turner made an excuse to leave Bella Carter’s house. When she reached the gate of the yard, she didn’t rush to open the door but instead stood there, waiting for Luke Crowe to bring her the key.
However, she waited at the gate for quite a while, but there was no sign of Luke Crowe.
She thought that Luke might have been delayed by sothing on the way, so she pushed open the door and walked into the yard. Sitting down on the stone bench, she waited for Luke.
Her guess was correct. Luke indeed encountered sothing on the way and coincidentally ran into Jaxon Dyer, who was heading to the Military Departnt.
Luke was hurrying toward Easton Hols’s house, and Jaxon, sensing sothing was up, decided to stop Luke to get so clarity.
"Luke! Where are you rushing off to?"
Jaxon stood in front of Luke, discreetly blocking his path forward.
"Captain!" Luke halted and first gave Jaxon a standard military salute before speaking, "The commander asked to deliver a key."
Upon hearing this, Jaxon raised an eyebrow and asked, "Deliver a key? To whom?"
He knew Luke was going to deliver the key to Lily Turner, but he wasn’t clear about the relationship between Lily and Easton Hols, which was what he most wanted to find out.
If his judgnt wasn’t wrong, then Luke must be aware of the situation between Easton and Lily.
"Captain! The commander is still waiting for ..."
"Don’t beat around the bush, just answer my question directly."
Luke wanted to dodge Jaxon’s question, but before he could finish speaking, Jaxon forcefully interrupted him.

Luke didn’t dare to speak recklessly. His superiors had instructed him to keep this matter confidential.
If there was any doubt before, seeing Luke’s hesitant manner now confird Jaxon’s suspicion that Luke knew the inside story.
"When did the commander et the famous Miss Turner?" Jaxon stopped beating around the bush and asked directly.
Hearing Jaxon’s question, Luke blurted out, "Captain! How do you know about Miss Turner?"
"You brat! I was asking you!" Jaxon raised his hand to tap the brim of Luke’s hat, deliberately putting on a serious face, "If you don’t clarify things today, don’t think you can leave from here."
As he spoke, he stood in front of Luke, legs apart, clearly indicating that Luke wouldn’t be able to pass unless he spoke.
Faced with such a situation, Luke felt both anxious and troubled. His superiors were waiting for him to return and report, yet the captain wouldn’t let him leave.
At that mont, he really wished he could turn into a groundhog and burrow away.
"Captain! You’re putting in a tough spot!" Luke dared to say boldly.
"You brat! Today I plan to make things difficult for you. What can you do about it?" Jaxon was determined to get to the bottom of this, completely ignoring Luke’s troubled expression, and imposed himself as the captain, adding pressure on Luke.
Luke felt like crying, but as a grown man, he couldn’t just squat on the ground and wail, could he? His superiors would surely scold him for being unmanly if they found out.
"The famous Miss Turner is still waiting for your key. If you continue to waste ti here, I think Miss Turner will be very anxious. She will definitely call the commander, and you can imagine the consequences yourself." Jaxon spoke slowly and lightly, but each word made Luke’s head hurt, although a fleeting smile flashed in his eyes.
