A few minutes later, Easton Hols drove up to the gate of the compound. Hearing the sound of a car horn outside, Lily Turner picked up her bag and walked out of the house.
Standing at the door for a mont, she slowly walked toward the car parked at the gate.
"Get in the car!"
Easton Hols extended his hand through the open car window and pointed to the passenger seat, indicating for Lily Turner to get in from that side.
At this ti, Easton Hols had already changed out of his military uniform and was wearing a casual outfit. Lily Turner noticed this as she walked over.
Seeing this situation, he was planning to take her out of the Military District Compound, which suited her perfectly. She had been thinking about how to tell him to leave for a while, so now she didn’t have to rack her brain anymore.
"Where are we going?" Lily Turner asked as soon as she seated herself in the car.
"Just going out to buy so things, and by the way, to pick up your luggage from your place." Easton Hols genuinely wanted to fetch Lily Turner’s luggage, but picking up so candy for the evening was just an afterthought. Their marriage registration yesterday had been so sudden that he hadn’t thought it through enough to gather her belongings.
After speaking, he drove towards the entrance of the neighborhood.
Upon hearing this, Lily Turner quickly turned to face the man driving, "Um, no need to rush to get my luggage. Let’s find a place to talk first."
He didn’t know the true situation yet. Would he still want to help her get her luggage after learning the truth? It would be a blessing if he didn’t throw her into the sea then.
"Talk? About what?"
Easton Hols sensed sothing unusual in Lily Turner’s words and turned to glance at her in the passenger seat. Although it was just a glance, he already perceived sothing off about her.
For safety while driving, Lily Turner did not directly answer Easton Hols’s question truthfully, "Just drive to a quiet place first, then I’ll tell you."
A public place wasn’t suitable to discuss such matters; she needed a quiet location to talk to him about it.
"What’s so mysterious that you need to talk about? What happened during the two hours we were apart that would make you so strange?" Easton Hols asked, increasingly feeling that sothing was out of place with Lily Turner.
Lily shook her head and returned to her previous stance, "Don’t ask anymore. I won’t tell you now; just drive to a quiet place, please."
If she revealed those words now, she feared he might drive the car onto the curb.
To ensure both their safety, she’d better keep those words to herself for now.
Hearing Lily Turner refusing again to disclose the topic, Easton Hols didn’t press further. Since she had sothing to discuss, he would drive to a quiet place as she requested.
A few minutes later, Easton Hols parked the car in a secluded, quiet area. Once the car was parked, he turned to face Lily Turner in the passenger seat.
"It’s very quiet here; no one will disturb us. Let’s start talking!" He straightened up, ready to listen attentively.
Lily Turner looked out the car window; this place was indeed secluded, perfect for their conversation.
"Um, um... I’m sorry! I lied to you." After dithering for a while, she finally blurted out an apology with, "I lied to you."
"You lied to ? What do you an?"
Faced with Lily Turner’s apology, Easton Hols felt confused. Along with the confusion, he also sensed there was definitely sothing up.
