"That man you t at the door this morning."
Upon Easton Hols’s reminder, Lily Turner suddenly rembered and exclaid, "So that guy is the captain! At first, I thought he was soone from your family."
"Are you really afraid to et my family?" Easton tilted his head and looked at the woman in the passenger seat, his face full of curiosity.
Lily nodded truthfully, "Not exactly afraid, just nervous."
She couldn’t even figure out what she was nervous about, just that she was nervous.
"Nervous?"
Easton turned his head to look at Lily once again, his curiosity even more pronounced this ti, though it quickly disappeared. "You don’t have to be nervous; except for my grandpa, everyone else is sowhere else."
"That relieves ; I don’t want to be suddenly called over by so officer." If soone suddenly appeared at the door saying they were an officer for soone, she wouldn’t even know who was who, okay? If it weren’t the Military District Compound, she wouldn’t dare casually go with strangers.
If his other family mbers were as kind and approachable as his grandpa, it would be great—wait! He just said his other family mbers aren’t at the Military District Compound, so does that an she doesn’t have to et them?
Could it be that, like her, he doesn’t want his family to know about the marriage?
She was afraid of being scolded by her mom, but what was his reason?
Lily tilted her head to look at the man driving, seeing his calm expression, she silently looked towards the front of the car with a question lingering in her mind.
After a long silence, Easton spoke again, "What do you want to eat for lunch? I can have..."
"I’ll cook for myself at lunch, so you don’t need to bring food from the cafeteria." Before Easton could finish speaking, Lily interrupted him. It wasn’t that she disliked the cafeteria food, but she wanted to cook for herself.
One was to avoid troubling him, and the other was to avoid people gossiping about him bringing food for his wife, which could have a negative impact on him.
Easton wasn’t surprised or taken aback, having heard Lily ntion this back at ho in the morning. Seeing her firm attitude about cooking for herself, he didn’t insist on his opinion.
"Make lunch for too, and later when we go back, let’s buy so groceries at the compound’s supermarket." Since she wanted to cook, he’d let her; he could also benefit and try her cooking.
"You’re coming ho for lunch?"
Lily always thought Easton was like those office workers, leaving in the morning and returning at night. She didn’t expect him to co ho for lunch; that was truly unexpected for her.
Hearing Lily say this, Easton couldn’t help but turn to look at her with a face full of displeasure, "What, you’re so unhappy to see ?"
This girl clearly didn’t want to see him. What was it about him that didn’t appeal to her?
"Not at all! I just thought you were busy with work and wouldn’t have ti to co ho for lunch."
Lily’s explanation was reasonable and reflected her true feelings; she wasn’t playing gas with him.
Regardless of whether it was her real intent or not, Easton didn’t doubt her, "As long as you cook for , I’ll co ho every day."
When he was single, he wished he could stay at the Military Departnt twenty-four hours a day; now with her at ho, the place seed to have a certain allure, making him yearn to return.
