Evelyn Taylor suddenly spoke up, right after Easton Hols had said sothing, causing Ryan Taylor’s heart to skip a beat, and his grip on the wine glass unconsciously tightened.
"With such a beautiful lady like you, how could we possibly ignore you?" Thomas Fisher, being the lively one among them, had been especially active from the beginning and always so tily in his comnts.
What others thought didn’t matter to Evelyn Taylor; she cared about Easton Hols’s attitude towards her. However, she waited and waited but did not receive any response from him, and the unpleasant feeling in her heart was indescribable.
"Easton! Could you give your glass of wine?"
Evelyn ignored Thomas Fisher’s enthusiasm and turned to reach for the wine glass in Easton Hols’s hand, but her hand grasped nothing but air as he moved the glass aside before she could reach it.
The rest of the people present were taken aback by the scene.
Under the astonished gazes of the others, Easton Hols picked up another glass of wine from the coffee table with his other hand and imdiately handed it to Evelyn Taylor, "No need to grab, there’s plenty of wine."
He pressed the glass he picked up back into her hand, not caring whether she was willing to take it or not.
"But I just want your glass of wine."
After her first attempt failed, Evelyn Taylor didn’t give up easily and reached out again to grab Easton Hols’s wine glass. This ti, she didn’t maintain the sa level of restraint as before.
Since he accused her of grabbing it, she decided to put aside her reservations, got up, and went over to reach for it.
This ti, Easton Hols did not hesitate either; before Evelyn Taylor could make her move, he downed the wine in his glass.
"My drink’s gone, drink yours."
He glanced indifferently at her sitting close beside him and stood up to pour himself more wine.
After filling his glass, he didn’t return to his previous seat but sat in the empty spot beside Ryan Taylor.
Evelyn Taylor stood up wanting to follow, but as she stood up, she caught sight of Ryan Taylor casting a stern look her way.
In that mont, her brother’s words before they arrived echoed in her ear again.
"If you want to co with , don’t be willful and make trouble, or I won’t go easy on you."
Is he really her brother? Why did it feel like he was that woman’s brother instead?
Even though Evelyn Taylor wanted to follow, rembering Ryan Taylor’s earlier warning, she decided to obediently sit back down.
She was still counting on her brother to help her, and if she annoyed him, she’d be completely out of luck.
"Big brother! You’re drinking a bit too fast, aren’t you?"
Easton Hols’s intention to avoid Evelyn Taylor was obvious; besides Alice Turner, the other three n present understood what was going on. To prevent the atmosphere from becoming awkward, the lively Thomas Fisher once again played to his strengths.
"If big brother has finished his drink, then the three of us... oh! No! The four of us should down ours too." Just as Thomas Fisher was about to raise his glass for a drink, he suddenly realized a serious issue: they had all overlooked one person—the one sitting to his right, Alice Turner.
He instinctively turned his head to look at her sitting quietly, her eyes inadvertently fixed on the coffee table in front of her, appearing so forlorn.
Unexpectedly, he felt a pang of discomfort in his heart.
"Sister-in-law! Co join us in the fun." Thomas Fisher extended his glass toward Alice Turner, inviting her to join in on the drinking.
