Easton Hols’ supervision was overbearing and forceful. Lily Turner’s protest was directly dismissed by him as invalid. Under his one-on-one close supervision, she ate three tis as much breakfast as usual.
"Eat a bit more."
"If you keep forcing to eat, believe it or not, I’ll vomit right in your face?"
Easton Hols wanted to push Lily Turner to eat a bit more, but he was firmly refused by Lily. At that point, she was already stuffed, and if she ate any more, she really would throw up. She wasn’t joking with him.
Her eyes, sparkling like stars, glared at him annoyingly, and her charming face spelled out big and clear: Discontent.
Seeing Lily Turner like this, Easton Hols realized she was reaching her limit. Placing the bun in his hand onto the plate, he stopped forcing her to eat.
He wasn’t afraid she’d vomit on him; he just didn’t want to overstuff her, because then she might really develop an aversion to food.
"I believe you!"
He pinched her cheek and rose to leave the dining room under her dissatisfied gaze.
"I’m heading to the Military Departnt. If soone knocks, make sure you know who it is before opening the door. Don’t open it to just anyone."
At the door of the dining room, Easton turned back to pointedly remind Lily Turner.
What did he an by that? Did he an she shouldn’t open the door for his mom?
Lily Turner thought that must be what Easton Hols ant. She’d heard everything his mom said earlier.
His mom had indeed gone too far, coming over to force him to get rid of the ’child’ in her belly.
All because of that annoying man, who blabbed to others about her being pregnant.
When misleading others, did he not think it’d reach his mom’s ears? The worst part was his mom actually took it seriously.
How did his mom find out so quickly?
Lily Turner tilted her head, and Evelyn Taylor’s image instantly flashed in her mind. Her sister had ntioned Evelyn was drinking with them last night.
That woman truly revels in chaos; how could he have such a loose-tongued childhood friend?
It’s his misfortune, but even more so, her sorrow.
Lily Turner forcefully shook her head to rid herself of the chaotic thoughts, and began tidying the tableware.
Just after she finished washing the dishes, her phone rang in her pocket.
Who could be calling at this ti? Could it be Freya Yeager?
Thinking it was likely Freya Yeager calling, Lily Turner quickly pulled out her phone from her pocket without drying her hands.
Seeing the flashing phone number and saved na, she imdiately had a bad feeling.
It wasn’t Freya Yeager calling, but her mom, Sophia Wood. She hesitated for quite a while, and picked up the call just before it was about to disconnect.
"You ungrateful girl! I thought you’d never answer my calls in your lifeti." As soon as the call connected, Sophia Wood didn’t give Lily Turner a chance to speak, firing away at her instantly.
Through the phone, Lily Turner could feel her mom Sophia Wood’s anger. She had a pretty good guess as to the cause of this anger.
If she was correct, her mom must have received a call from his mom.
"I’m not as ’perfect’ as you imagine."
The word "perfect" in Lily Turner’s sentence was in quotes. Every ti her mom reached out to her, it was either to scold or nag her. Not once had they spoken peacefully.
Growing up, she had no fond mories of her mom, only rebukes, admonitions, and even inexplicable anger with hitting or scolding.
