Lily Turner had a brief chat with Alice Turner, and after saying goodbye to each other, she hung up the phone.
Bang!
When she turned around after hanging up the phone, Lily Turner was startled, and the phone in her hand fell onto the dining table.
"Easton Hols! Is scaring people fun for you?"
Easton Hols, who was sitting not far away a mont ago, sohow ended up right behind her without her noticing. Startled, Lily shouted angrily at him.
Easton Hols reached up to pinch her cheek disapprovingly, "I didn’t scare you. You were just too engrossed in the call to notice. You’re twisting the facts."
Saying that, he pinched her cheek again.
"Easton Hols! You..."
Lily was so angry she didn’t even know what to say, so she pushed away the hand pinching her cheek, picked up the phone from the dining table, and walked out of the dining room.
When she reached the dining room door, she suddenly stopped, turned around to look at him sitting inside, "I’m not having lunch, even if you force ."
She was still digesting after being forced to eat so much in the morning, and eating more now would give her a stomachache.
After saying that, she turned back and left the dining room, striding towards the living room.
Watching her decisively leave the dining room, Easton Hols shook his head helplessly. He thought about how he had forced her to eat much more than usual for breakfast that morning and decided not to chase after her.
Once she was sure that he wasn’t following her, Lily slowed down her pace, picked up her phone, and began composing a ssage as she headed towards the living room.
"About earlier, my apologies. I’m saying sorry on behalf of my husband."
After carefully checking the ssage and ensuring there was nothing wrong with it, she sent the edited ssage to Grant Heath.
"No worries."
A few minutes later, Lily received a reply from Grant Heath. The ssage was extrely brief, just two words.
Given what she knew about the person on the other end of the phone, they must be angry, but she had no idea what else she could say. She had already apologized to him.
Having Easton apologize to the person on the other end was an impossible task, and she knew that better than anyone.
Sigh!
Lily sighed helplessly as she sat down on the sofa. She reached for the remote on the coffee table and turned on the TV to watch absentmindedly.
Tick tock! Tick tock!
Hearing her phone ring in her pocket, Lily put down the remote and took out her phone to take a look.
Initially thinking it was another text from Grant Heath, she was surprised to see a bank deposit notification instead.
When she saw the amount of the deposit, her eyes widened like saucers.
What on earth is going on?
Her salary and ad fees had all been settled, and she hadn’t taken on any new assignnts recently. Why had the company transferred so much money to her? Moreover, the notification clearly stated it was a paynt.
Just what kind of paynt was this?
Did the company’s financial system malfunction, or did the accountant make a mistake? Otherwise, why would they transfer thirty-eight million to her for no reason?
She didn’t even participate in the company’s arranged "Intimate Couples" show recording. Not only did she avoid a hefty breach-of-contract fee, but they also transferred such a large amount to her.
Staring at the newly received ssage, Lily made a very certain judgnt: there was a serious loophole in the company’s finance departnt.
With that judgnt in mind, she dared not continue staring at the ssage in shock. She quickly wiped the astonishnt from her face and imdiately dialed the company’s finance office.
