"I’m here to have a word with you!"
Easton Hols replied as he walked in, not expecting Sophia Wood to invite him to sit. Once inside, he took the initiative to sit on the sofa.
Seeing the unapologetic Easton Hols, the anger in Sophia Wood’s heart grew even more. "I have nothing to discuss with you, so you’d better leave our ho quickly. Don’t wait for to kick you out, or it’ll be embarrassing for you."
Because of her anger, her tone was unfriendly, and her expression wasn’t pleasant.
"I know my mom caused trouble here and upset you, and I’m here to apologize on her behalf."
Seeing how mad Sophia Wood was, Easton Hols assud it was because his mother had caused trouble. He hadn’t considered other factors or realized what had actually happened.
Upon hearing this, Sophia Wood raised her hand to interrupt, "Don’t apologize to ; I can’t accept it."
"Leave."
She once again urged him to leave, doing so firmly and decisively.
Easton Hols had a purpose for coming back, and he wouldn’t leave so easily. "I know you’re very upset now, but could you please give a chance to speak? I’ll leave as soon as I’m done."
So things have to be said eventually; he decided this was the ti. Otherwise, it might be harder to address later.
"You and your mother are indeed alike. Whatever you say or do is just unacceptable."
Earlier, his mother had insisted on speaking before leaving, and now the son was doing the sa. They really were of the sa mold.
Recalling Alia Linton’s actions, Sophia Wood stopped urging Easton Hols to leave and instead said irritably, "Say what you need to quickly and then go."
She realized that, just like his mother, he wouldn’t leave until he said what he ca to say.
Though Sophia Wood agreed unwillingly, Easton Hols was content. He couldn’t expect a good attitude from her now, so having this opportunity to speak was already quite fortunate.
"I don’t know what my mother said to you, but I beg you not to take it to heart. My mother can’t represent , nor can she make any decisions for ."
"It was wrong of Lily and to get legally married behind your back, but we are now legally husband and wife. Please accept as your son-in-law."
"I..."
Easton Hols said a lot in one breath, but just as he was about to continue, Sophia Wood rudely interrupted him, "I will not accept you as my son-in-law. I want no association with your Hols family."
His father was so irresponsible and philandering, and his mother was so ruthless. What good could their son be? She didn’t want her daughter to follow in her best friend’s footsteps.
"You don’t want any association with the Hols family? Why?" Easton Hols caught the crux of Sophia Wood’s words but didn’t understand why she said it. Did the Turner Family have so unresolved issue with the Hols family?
Sophia Wood smiled coolly, "Your Hols family is too high for ordinary folks like us to reach."
They weren’t from the sa world, yet they insisted on aligning themselves, only causing unnecessary trouble.
"Lily is marrying , not the Hols family." Although Easton Hols couldn’t understand what was going on in Sophia Wood’s mind, he could tell there was more to her words that she truly wanted to convey.
