At first, when the air conditioning was turned on, Lily Turner felt a pleasant coolness, but as ti went on, she started to feel hot again, even hotter than before.
She furrowed her brows in confusion. It wasn't the blazing sumr now; it was late autumn in Fla City, and it should have been quite cool. She sensed sothing unusual, but she still didn't think about that bottle of drink.
Lily Turner strode into the bathroom, turned on the faucet, and washed her face with cold water. The temperature on her face seed to ease slightly, but the heat on her body remained high.
She turned around and walked under the showerhead, switched it on, not caring that she'd drench her clothes, and stood directly under the shower, fully dressed.
The cool water poured down from above, and Lily Turner felt much more comfortable, with her body temperature significantly alleviated.
Bang!
Hearing the door close, Lily Turner thought Freya Yeager had returned from making a phone call. She turned off the shower, grabbed a towel, and, while drying her hair, opened the bathroom door and walked out.
But the person who ca in wasn't Freya Yeager; it was Henry Thompson, the man she both loved and hated. Her hair-drying hands froze in place.
Just stepping inside, Henry Thompson turned instinctively at the noise. He saw Lily Turner, her whole body dripping wet, and unconsciously furrowed his brow, "You..."
"What are you doing here? You're not welco here. Please, hurry up and get lost." This was the first ti Lily Turner and Henry Thompson had t since that night. Before, every ti she saw him, she would rush into his arms, but now seeing him, she felt he was so filthy that she wished to be tens of thousands of miles away from him.
Seeing Lily Turner's disgusted look at him, Henry Thompson felt uncomfortable. He strode towards her, standing at the bathroom door, "Do you even know what's going on to tell to get lost?"
He looked down at her, initially thinking she would appear very haggard now, but not only did she lack any sign of haggardness, her face was flushed, and she still exuded a captivating aura.
"I don't care what's going on with you! Just get lost imdiately!"
As Henry Thompson inched closer, a whiff of male hormones assaulted Lily Turner's senses. She felt an impulse to throw herself into his arms, and if it weren't for the remaining rationality reminding her, she would've already done so.
"You really are thankless!"
Henry Thompson raised his hand in anger, pointed at Lily Turner, and glared at her, gritting his teeth.
Lily Turner raised her hand, slapped away the finger pointed at her, and just as she opened her mouth to retort, she felt the temperature she had just lowered suddenly spike again.
For so unknown reason, this surge in temperature was particularly intense, and she had an overwhelming urge to throw herself at the man in front of her.
This isn't normal! It's too abnormal!
This was very similar to a plot in one of the movies she had acted in, and based on that storyline, she drew a terrifying conclusion: she had been drugged, and the person who did it was a big sister she trusted.
"I am thankless, now you get out imdiately!"
After shouting at Henry Thompson, Lily Turner turned around and rushed back into the bathroom, locking the door with a snap from inside. She dashed to the shower.
Turning on the showerhead, she used cold water to cool her burning body. Even if she had to drench herself all night, she wouldn't let that disgusting man outside have his way.
