"It was who insisted on coming back by myself."
Over the phone, Alice Turner heard Lily Turner and Easton Hols talking, and quickly explained on her behalf.
She didn’t want the two of them to have any unpleasantness because of her, especially when her sister was pregnant. There can be no slip-ups now.
Hearing her sister’s explanation, Lily Turner realized she had misunderstood Thomas Fisher. She also knew she shouldn’t have taken her frustration out on Easton Hols. She gave him an apologetic smile, then imdiately turned to face the car window.
"Sis! As long as you’re fine, that’s good. You must be tired now, go get so rest. I won’t bother you," she said, removing the phone from her ear and preparing to hang up when a large hand suddenly reached over and took the phone from her without her having a chance to react.
Instinctively, Lily Turner turned her head and saw Easton Hols already had the phone to his ear, speaking to the person on the other end, "Put Thomas on the phone."
It turns out he grabbed the phone to speak to his good friend. If he wanted to talk, he could just ask; why take the phone? Couldn’t a simple request work?
Noticing Lily Turner staring at him without blinking, Easton Hols waved his hand in front of her eyes. A shadow flashed before her, and she suddenly snapped back to reality, blinking her eyes.
"Big Brother!"
At this point, Thomas Fisher also picked up the phone and shouted "Big Brother," reminding the person on this end that he was online.
Upon hearing Thomas Fisher answer, Easton Hols imdiately began, not holding back at all, "Look at what you did today, making calls all over without understanding the situation. Can you be more careful with what you do in the future? Stop being so loud and reckless."
Pausing, he continued, "You scared your sister-in-law and niece. Figure out how to make it up to them yourself."
After speaking, he didn’t give the person on the other end a chance to respond and promptly hung up the phone.
Easton Hols directly called Thomas Fisher for compensation, leaving Lily Turner stunned and staring at him for a while before she finally regained her composure.
"Isn’t that a bit too much?"
Indeed, the call had frightened her, but it wasn’t enough to cause any real harm. She and the baby weren’t so fragile.
"He needs to learn his lesson!"
Easton Hols put the phone away and asked, "Can we go back to the ward now?"
Fortunately, the call had co just in ti, otherwise, they would have been on their way there.
"Yeah."
Knowing that Alice Turner was safe at ho, Lily Turner fully relaxed. She now knew she couldn’t be willful anymore, and she couldn’t just do whatever she pleased. She had to take responsibility for the baby inside her.
Lily Turner’s docile agreent sowhat surprised Easton Hols, but he didn’t let the surprise show on his face.
"Let’s go!"
The two of them got out of the car and went upstairs back to the ward, thus ending a false alarm.
"Are you tired? If you’re tired, lie down and get so sleep." Easton Hols reached out to help Lily Turner lie down but was stopped when she grabbed his wrist. Confused, he asked, "What’s wrong?"
He stood beside the bed, looking down at her as she sat there.
Lily Turner raised her other hand and pointed to Easton Hols’s pocket where his phone was, saying, "Call Thomas Fisher and ask him why he went drinking with my sister."
Earlier, her sister had said over the phone that Thomas Fisher owed her a drink. What’s the situation between the two of them?
