Christopher Turner finished speaking, and Alice Turner just gave a soft "hmm" before quickly hanging up with the excuse that she had things to attend to.
After the call with her father, Alice suddenly felt incredibly irritable and lowered the car window, wanting to let the cold wind calm her down.
All the way, she let the cold wind blow on her, and by the ti she reached the apartnt building, she had managed to calm her irritable mood.
After paying the fare and getting out of the car ready to go upstairs, Alice suddenly saw Benjamin Shaw’s car parked not far away and stood there staring at it in a daze for a while.
Finally, she looked up at a certain spot on the building, then turned and walked towards the car parked not far behind her. She took out the car key from her bag.
Opening the car door, she got back into her car and drove away imdiately without a mont’s pause.
The man was upstairs, and given her bad state today, it wasn’t suitable to et the man upstairs. She didn’t have the energy to deal with him.
Alice drove quickly out of the community, realizing that whether she wanted to stay at a hotel or not, she had to. The only place she could go today was a hotel.
After driving on the road for nearly half an hour, the car finally stopped at the entrance of a hotel.
After parking the car and getting out, just as she was about to enter the hotel to check in, her phone in her pocket suddenly rang.
Taking the phone out of her pocket, she glanced at it; it was a call from Benjamin Shaw. She had no desire to answer his call, so she decisively swiped the screen to decline the call.
Putting the phone back in her pocket, she walked briskly into the hotel.
Tick tock!
As Alice reached the front desk to check in, her pocket rang with a text ssage alert. She fished the phone out while talking to the hotel staff.
The ssage was from Benjamin Shaw. It was quite long, full of deep dissatisfaction, and even had a hint of insult.
"Since you’re back, why not co up? Is this house really sothing you can’t be part of, or is soone outside waiting for you, making you so eager to drive away?"
Earlier, Alice had returned downstairs by taxi, then left in her own car, all of which Benjamin saw from the living room’s floor-to-ceiling window.
He watched her drive away and didn’t look away until her car was out of sight.
After staring blankly at the large glass window for a mont, he also left the apartnt. Coincidentally, while taking a drive, he ran into her car.
The mont he saw her car, he turned around and followed it impulsively.
Benjamin Shaw followed Alice Turner all the way to the hotel, sothing Alice was completely unaware of, not even the slightest suspicion.
"Benjamin Shaw! Don’t assu everyone is like you, soone who lacks emotional commitnt."
After reading Benjamin Shaw’s text ssage, Alice rudely typed a reply and sent it back.
Then she put away her phone, picked up the room card, and turned towards the elevator.
Just as she was nearing the elevator, Alice suddenly stopped when she saw a man standing there.
Although the man stood with his back to her, she imdiately recognized him as Benjamin Shaw.
Instinctively, she turned to walk away, but as she took the first step, his voice ca from behind, "In such a hurry to run off, guilty conscience, perhaps?"
