Lily Turner took the phone handed to her by Alice Turner, walked out of the kitchen with it, and only after leaving the kitchen did she answer the call.
"My sister and I just got ho and were about to call you, and here you are calling us. Does this count as being telepathically connected?"
This morning when he left the house, he specifically instructed her to call him when she got to her sister’s place, but she got so caught up in questioning her sister that she completely forgot about his instructions.
If he hadn’t called her, she wouldn’t know when she would have rembered.
Knowing she was in the wrong, Lily Turner laughed and played it cool with Easton Hols before he could start scolding her.
Easton Hols had calculated the ti himself, but even after the ti had passed, he hadn’t received a call from Lily Turner, and his mind imdiately went to bad scenarios.
Worried, he didn’t hesitate any longer and picked up the phone to call Alice Turner.
Her playful voice ca through the phone, and the mont his heart was suspended, it settled back into place.
"What do you think?"
Just got ho!
Did he not know that place well? Or did she think he was easy to fool?
Easton didn’t believe for a second that Lily Turner had just arrived ho, but considering her words about their telepathic connection, he decided not to expose her lie and pretended everything she said was true.
Not being scolded by the man on the other end of the line, Lily was secretly delighted, but she tried to control her emotions and not get carried away. "I think it should count."
She managed to cover up for now, not worrying about anything else for the mont.
"Should?"
Easton Hols seed unsatisfied with Lily Turner’s use of the word "should," raising his tone high at the end, as if questioning her or expressing dissatisfaction.
Lily Turner furrowed her brows in confusion. Did she say it wrong? She shook her head in bewildernt, unable to understand what Easton Hols ant.
Even though she didn’t know what he ant exactly, she could tell he wasn’t happy with her choice of words.
"Easton Hols! That’s not fair. I asked you one question, and you asked two, plus I answered my own question," Lily paused, then righteously said to Easton Hols on the phone, "To be fair, I refuse to answer your question."
She pretended not to notice his dissatisfaction and even expressed her own displeasure to him.
His wife was getting better at this kind of playful banter.
Fine! Considering their telepathic connection, he decided not to quibble with her today.
Easton Hols didn’t continue the topic. He naturally changed the subject, "Call when you’re coming back this afternoon, and I’ll co pick you up."
He had sothing to discuss with her parents tonight, and taking her ho first would give him peace of mind to handle business.
"Don’t you have things to do tonight? My sister can take back, so just focus on your important matters," Easton picking up the change of subject was exactly what Lily hoped for, and she was very pleased about it.
Hearing Lily say this, Easton Hols didn’t insist on picking her up, "That works too, but make sure you call when you get ho. Don’t forget to give a call."
He emphasized the last sentence to make sure it caught her attention.
"Absolutely!"
Lily Turner recognized Easton Hols’s special emphasis and replied confidently over the phone with those two words.
