"Sis! You cook, I’ll get the door."
Lily Turner hadn’t even finished speaking before she turned and left the kitchen, striding quickly towards the door.
Whoever was banging the door so rudely couldn’t be a good person.
Seeing her sister stride towards the door, Alice Turner hurriedly placed the vegetables in the sink and quickly followed, though she was a bit late. By the ti she reached the door, Lily had already opened it.
"Brother-in-law?!"
Seeing Benjamin Shaw outside, Lily was surprised and exclaid out loud.
Seeing it was her who opened the door, Benjamin was also taken aback and asked, "What are you doing here?"
After being thrown out of the hotel like a madman last night, Benjamin was furious and hadn’t slept well. He was waiting to confront Alice the next day.
But when he went to her company in the morning to find her, her colleagues told him she was on leave and didn’t co in. He then drove to the hotel to look for her, only to be told she’d been gone for a long ti.
She wasn’t at the company or the hotel, so he tried his luck by returning to the apartnt. As fortune would have it, he saw her car downstairs.
Knowing she was ho, he quickly got out of the car and went upstairs. Just as he was about to use his key to open the door, he changed his mind and decided to bang on the door instead.
He wanted to let her know he was there, ready to settle accounts with her.
What he didn’t expect at all was that her sister would be at ho.
Having heard soone banging on the door, Alice imdiately thought of Benjamin. Sure enough, when Lily opened the door, she saw him standing there.
His sudden appearance here, coupled with his anger, made it clear to her that he was here to settle accounts.
"My sister’s here as a guest."
To prevent her sister from noticing anything and to remind Benjamin to keep his calm, she spoke up before Lily could.
Lily stepped aside to let Benjamin enter, rembering his earlier rude door-banging, her expression turned a bit unpleasant.
"I ca back to pick sothing up."
Catching on to Alice’s deliberate hint, Benjamin quickly ca up with an excuse.
As he spoke, he walked in from outside and nodded slightly at Lily in a courteous greeting as he passed her by.
Jerk!
Is there anything of yours here? Coming back to pick sothing up, seriously.
Watching Benjamin walk in, Alice felt extrely frustrated, but with Lily around, she couldn’t explode or directly kick him out.
Seeing Benjamin co in, Lily closed the door, glanced at Alice, and then headed towards the living room, leaving space and ti for her sis and brother-in-law despite her doubts and worries.
Once Lily moved away, Benjamin grabbed Alice and pulled her towards the room.
"Benjamin! What are you doing? Let go of ."
Worried that Lily in the living room might hear, Alice tried to keep her voice down despite her anger, making her face turn unpleasant.
Benjamin acted as if he hadn’t heard a thing, not even turning his head, as he dragged Alice into the room. Once inside, he casually closed the door.
"Didn’t you say I was a madman? What do you think a madman would do, hmm?" As soon as the door closed, he pushed her against it, hands on either side of her to prevent her from escaping.
