"Lily!"
Even though it had been more than twenty years, as soon as Sophia Wood walked in, Michael Linton recognized her instantly and blurted out Lily’s na.
Lily Turner was sitting to the left of Michael Linton. Hearing him call out "Lily," she mistakenly thought he was calling her and quickly tilted her head to respond, "What is it?"
But she noticed that the man calling out "Lily" wasn’t looking at her; he was looking at her mother who had just walked in.
At this mont, she didn’t realize the man was calling out "Lily" and not her na, Lily.
The other two people present also couldn’t have imagined that the man was calling "Lily." They too thought he was calling Lily and didn’t think to consider any other possibilities.
"Is this your mother?"
Upon hearing Lily Turner’s question, Michael Linton quickly removed his gaze from Sophia Wood and turned it towards Lily. When he turned his head, his expression had completely returned to normal.
"Yes! I am Lily Turner’s mother."
Hearing Michael Linton’s question to Lily Turner, Sophia Wood assud Michael had shown up to "settle scores" on behalf of his sister, and she walked over, stopping a short distance from him.
"What? Here to avenge your sister..."
Michael Linton suddenly turned his head towards the sound, looking at Sophia Wood. At that mont, Sophia saw Michael’s face clearly.
The mont she saw clearly, she froze, completely forgetting to close her agape mouth.
Seeing Sophia Wood’s stunned expression, Easton Hols and Lily Turner simultaneously furrowed their brows and both turned to look at Michael Linton.
"Sophia! Guests at our door must be treated courteously!"
While the two were filled with confusion about what had actually happened, Christopher Turner walked over from the side, reaching out to pull Sophia Wood aside.
He thought her loud outburst towards the guest was particularly rude, and as he pulled her away, he didn’t forget to express his own apology to Michael Linton. "I’m sorry for the scene you just saw."
Worried she might once again act impulsively, he tightened his grip on her arm, silently reminding her not to get worked up without reason.
The mont Sophia Wood recognized Michael Linton, she seed completely dumbfounded. When Christopher pulled her away, she showed no reaction whatsoever.
At this point, she only saw his mouth moving; whatever words he said, she was completely unaware.
Once full of fighting spirit, Sophia Wood now sat like a puppet at the rcy of others, with no conscious awareness of her own, allowing Christopher Turner to press her down into the sofa.
Both Lily Turner and Easton Hols noticed sothing was off with Sophia Wood’s behavior. However, only Easton noticed that her sudden change in behavior was undeniably linked to Michael Linton sitting on his right.
His uncle had been giving her mother a very peculiar look. Although it returned to normal quickly, it was caught by his keen eye.
"Lily! Serve your uncle and Easton so tea."
Due to the little incident that had just occurred, the atmosphere in the living room had beco quite awkward. To alleviate the awkwardness, Christopher Turner called out for Lily to serve tea to the other two.
At his words, Lily Turner imdiately put aside her doubts, bent down to pick up a cup of water from the coffee table, and stood up, handing it to Michael Linton. "Uncle! Have so water."
