Sophia Wood was completely factual, and Christopher Turner also knew this in his heart, but he didn’t see it that way and disagreed with her view.
"How did I harm my daughter? The Shaw family is a prestigious household, and I don’t know how much my daughter enjoys being there." In his mind, his daughter being able to marry into such a family was a blessing accumulated from her previous life.
"You..."
Squeak!
The sudden sound of the door opening interrupted Sophia’s words. She instinctively turned to look towards the door and saw that it was Alice Turner entering. She quickly pointed at Alice and said, "Just in ti, Alice is here now, ask her if she’s enjoying herself in the Shaw family?"
Sophia Wood had been involved in the marriage arrangent between the Turner and Shaw families from start to finish. She saw clearly how Alice was forced to marry Benjamin Shaw, and she even played a part in it.
As a woman herself, she could feel that Alice was not living happily after marriage.
She had never heard Alice take the initiative to ntion Benjamin Shaw in front of her. Every ti she asked about Benjamin, Alice either avoided the topic or casually changed the subject to brush her off.
Alice Turner hurried to the Turner Family completely out of concern that Lily might argue with Sophia. However, to her surprise, upon entering, she heard her parents quarreling over her affairs.
"Dad! Mom! What’s going on between you two?"
Alice asked Christopher and Sophia, but her eyes were searching around the room. However, after searching for a while, she didn’t see any trace of Lily and Easton Hols.
Christopher gave a disgruntled look at Sophia, who was pointing at Alice, and then followed her hand to look at Alice, "It’s late and you’re not staying at your own ho, what are you doing here?"
He dodged Alice’s question by responding off-topic.
"This is my ho too, isn’t it? Just because I’m married, does that an I can’t co back?" Hearing Christopher say this, Alice’s mood instantly soured, and her tone beca unpleasant.
Already filled with pent-up anger and now being retorted by Alice, Christopher’s temper flared, "I called you and Benjamin to co, but both of you claid to be busy and wouldn’t co. Now that no one’s ho, you decide to show up."
If they had co, the other two wouldn’t have left like that.
Christopher placed half the bla for Lily and Easton’s premature departure on Alice and Benjamin, believing that if they had co, things wouldn’t be like this now.
"Why is there no one at ho now? Could it be that you..." As she spoke halfway, Alice suddenly felt her words were inappropriate and stopped in ti.
Thankfully she caught herself, or she would have received another scolding, as her dad’s expression had already darkened.
Hearing the father-daughter exchange, Sophia cald down, lowered her raised hand, and turned to Alice who had suddenly appeared at ho, "Alice! Do you have sothing to do here?"
Without any warning or call, she found Alice’s presence tonight very suspicious.
"Dad called yesterday to say that Lily and Easton were coming to the house. After finishing my errands, I rushed over." After speaking, Alice peeked toward the living room, "You’re all standing here, where are Easton and Lily?"
Without acting, she spoke the truth entirely. She was also wondering where Easton Hols and Lily Turner had gone.
