The person calling Fabian Hols wasn’t anyone else but Alia Linton’s brother, Michael Linton. Although the two of them have a brother-in-law and brother-in-law relationship, for so reasons, they rarely contact each other.
Today, Michael Linton suddenly called, and Fabian Hols had a bad premonition. His heart skipped more than once, but no matter how anxious he felt, he still answered the call.
"Hello! Pe..."
"Is my sister okay?"
Fabian Hols hadn’t even finished saying Michael’s na when Michael interrupted him.
Upon hearing this, Fabian Hols’s heart skipped a few more beats. Why was his brother-in-law asking this? Could it be his son had called Michael?
That shouldn’t be the case, right? He had only ntioned an argunt, nothing more.
"Did Easton call you?"
Fabian Hols didn’t know that Michael Linton had co to Fla City, nor did he know Michael was staying at his father-in-law’s house, so he guessed Easton had called Michael.
"I was right beside Easton when he called you," Michael explained the situation in one sentence, and regardless of Fabian’s reaction on the other end, he continued, "What exactly did you two argue about that made my sister want to leave ho?"
His words carried dissatisfaction, and his tone held an undercurrent of anger that was hard to detect.
It was only then that Fabian realized he had misjudged. Michael was now at Alia’s father’s place, and his initial feeling was indeed correct; his days wouldn’t be peaceful anymore.
If she wakes up tomorrow and is fine, that would be good. Otherwise, it’s hard to say what situation he might face.
"We just had a small argunt over sothing trivial, nothing major, and your sister didn’t leave ho. She just went out for a drive." After Alia fell asleep, Fabian briefly understood the situation with Theodore Hols, realizing then that they’d gone out for a drive, which wasn’t what he had feared.
He didn’t dare ask further about how it had escalated to that. In the current situation, he couldn’t allow himself to ask more.

Michael was inherently skeptical of Fabian’s explanation because, from the information he had, the issues between Fabian and Alia were more than just a simple argunt.
"Is my sister next to you now? Give her the phone; I want to speak with her." Instead of questioning his brother-in-law outright, the most effective way was to ask his sister directly.
"Your sister is already asleep."
Fabian glanced at the sleeping Alia on the hospital bed. She was indeed sleeping; he wasn’t lying.
Upon hearing this, Michael blurted out, "Then wake her up."
Already asleep?!
They had just found her not long ago, and now not even an hour later, she was asleep. Had his sister’s heart grown so broad?
"I can’t wake her up."
How could Fabian wake Alia now? She had only managed to fall asleep after the doctor administered a shot. Waking her would be causing trouble for himself and the doctor.
Michael had already been skeptical of Fabian’s words, and now hearing this, his suspicion grew even more. "Then place the phone by her ear, and let wake her up personally."
