After leaving the hospital, Easton Hols didn’t imdiately return ho. Instead, he drove around for a while until he cald down completely before driving back ho.
"Where did you go so late?"
Hearing his grandfather Callix Linton’s voice, Easton Hols frowned slightly, but when he turned his head to look at his grandfather, he had already returned to normal.
Seeing his grandfather wrapped in a coat standing not far away, Easton quickly walked over, "There was an ergency at the Military Departnt, and I went to handle it."
This was the excuse that instantly popped into his mind when he saw his grandfather.
However, Easton hadn’t yet thought that Callix Linton had already learned so details from Aunt Li, such as Fabian Hols calling to find Easton, and Michael Linton and Easton discussing matters in the living room.
"And your uncle? Did he also go out to handle urgent military duties? Didn’t you two go together?" Callix looked at Easton, and at this mont, his face said it all: You’re lying to !
The expression on Callix’s face was too obvious; Easton couldn’t pretend not to see it. Seeing his grandfather like this, he knew that his grandfather had already figured out so things.
Without needing to think, he knew his grandfather had asked Aunt Li.
"Of course, my uncle and I were together, but he said it was too late, so he didn’t co back. I had to return because Lily is still at ho, and I’m worried." Easton chuckled with Callix, not wanting to discuss those matters, especially what had happened tonight, as it wasn’t a good thing.
Callix stared at Easton for a long ti. Just when Easton thought he wasn’t going to say anything, he abruptly said, "You hurry upstairs to accompany Lily; nothing is more important than my great-grandson now."
Easton caught all the implicit anings in Callix’s words, and seeing that his grandfather’s emotions hadn’t changed much, the tension in his heart slowly eased.
"I’ll help you inside first, then head upstairs to accompany Lily and your precious grandson." As Easton spoke, he reached out to support Callix. The old man seed very cooperative; before Easton could move first, he had already turned around and was heading toward his room.
Seeing his grandfather so cooperative didn’t ease Easton’s mood. His grandfather was being so anable just not to add to his ntal burden.
His grandfather wholeheartedly thought of him; Easton was more aware of this than anyone else.
For the sake of his grandfather’s precious intentions, he said nothing more. He quietly helped his grandfather back to his room and then went upstairs to his own room.
As soon as Easton left, Callix imdiately sat up again, fished his phone out from under his pillow, and turned on the bedside lamp.
Holding the phone, he leaned closer to the lamp. After so effort, he finally found Michael Linton’s number and dialed it without any hesitation.
"Hello! Dad!"
After the phone rang several tis, Michael finally picked up.
On the phone, Callix could tell Michael was deliberately lowering his voice, "Kid Easton is back; what are you still doing there? Waiting for the two of them to invite you for a al?"
Callix only knew that Fabian had called here looking for Easton, but he didn’t know what Fabian had called for. However, since it alard both nephew and uncle, he thought it certainly wasn’t a small matter.
