After being pulled from Sophia’s embrace by Easton Hols, Lily Turner’s emotions gradually cald down, but she still couldn’t control her tears and leaned against Easton’s chest, sobbing softly.
"Control your emotions and go to the living room with the kids." Sophia also couldn’t control herself for a mont, standing quietly sobbing at the bathroom door. Christopher Turner walked up to her, tugging at her sleeve to remind her not to cry.
With Christopher’s deliberate reminder, Sophia slowly stopped sobbing, turned around, and went into the bathroom. She quickly washed away the tear marks on her face, dried the water droplets on her face, and walked out with a towel.
"Don’t cry, wipe your face."
Sophia approached Easton and Lily, handing over the towel in her hand. Easton took the towel but didn’t imdiately wipe Lily’s tears.
He looked at Sophia and then at Christopher, saying, "You two go to the living room first; I’ll bring Lily over in a while."
The woman in his arms couldn’t stop for a mont; he needed ti to comfort her.
"You..."
"You two go ahead; we’ll co later."
Sophia wanted to say sothing, but Christopher interrupted her, pulling her away before she could react.
Seeing the two of them walk away, Easton returned his gaze to Lily in his arms, his eyes gentle as water, "Shall we stop crying now?"
With the hand holding the towel, he lifted her head nestled against his chest, her tear-streaked face imdiately coming into view.
His heart felt as if it had been soaked in lemon and sour persimmon water, suddenly turning sour and astringent, feeling very uncomfortable.
"Look at you, crying like a little kitten, so ugly." After a long while, he finally cald down and wiped away her tears with the towel.
"You’re the little kitten."
Hearing Easton call her a little kitten, Lily imdiately retorted, and as she spoke, she took the towel from his hand and stepped out of his embrace at the sa ti. Holding the towel, she walked into the bathroom.
Seeing her emotions had improved greatly, he let out a long sigh of relief and followed her, standing quietly at the bathroom door, watching her wash her face inside.
After washing her face, Lily’s emotions had basically returned to normal. She dried the water droplets on her face and walked out of the bathroom.
"You look much better now."
Seeing her return to her normal state, Easton’s mood also improved a lot. The words seed like a joke, but he wasn’t joking at all.
Lily thought Easton was joking with her, but when she turned to retort, she suddenly noticed his expression was very serious, with no hint of joking.
"I was just a little out of control, it won’t happen again, so as not to be disliked by you." The first half of her sentence was serious, but the last sentence was ant as a joke.
"Knowing I would dislike it, don’t cry like a little kitten again." Easton reached out and pulled Lily over, holding her tightly in his arms. He whispered in her ear, "No matter what decision you make, I will support you, I’ll always stand by you."
He tightened his arms around her, holding her more closely.
Lily knew exactly what Easton was talking about, reaching out to hug him back, "Thank you!"
Her heart was filled with gratitude, ward by his words.
