Alice Turner actually wasn’t so sure that the call Sophia Wood was taking at the mont was from Lily Turner, she just thought it was very likely that Lily had called.
"Sis!"
Before Sophia could speak, Lily Turner had already started shouting to Alice Turner from the other end of the phone.
Hearing that all too familiar voice, a smile imdiately appeared on Alice Turner’s face. She sat up straight, brought her mouth closer to the phone, and loudly responded, "Hey!"
After responding, she directly took the phone from Sophia Wood’s hand and unceremoniously placed it to her own ear, "What are you doing at ho?"
Actually, what she wanted to ask was: What did you tell Mom? Did you make her cry?
But just as the words were about to co out of her mouth, she forced them back down, because at that very mont she realized.
The mother and daughter must have been talking about sothing related to family matters. Though she was now family to them, to her, the matter they were discussing still made her an outsider.
"What else could I be doing? Of course, I’m just waiting at ho for dinner. Right now, besides waiting to eat, I’m still just waiting to eat." Hearing Alice Turner answer the phone, Lily Turner quickly put away all her thoughts and imdiately switched to a relaxed mode.
Lily Turner’s response was so normal that over the phone, Alice Turner didn’t hear anything unusual, but the more it seed like this, the more she felt sothing was off.
She knew for sure they were talking about sothing serious, otherwise her mom wouldn’t have been in tears.
"Just keep eating, be careful you don’t turn into a little chubby girl."
Since both her sister and mom avoided the topic, she wisely chose not to bring it up either.
She cooperatively joked with the person on the other end of the line.
Alice Turner didn’t ask anything, and Lily Turner breathed a sigh of relief. Hearing her sister’s words, she blurted out a response, "Sis! You’re so an, cursing to beco a little chubby girl."
She’s already gained a bit of weight compared to before, and if she keeps going like this, she really might turn into a little chubby girl like her sister said.
"You’re too skinny now, you’d look better with a bit more weight, I want you to look even better, you’ve misunderstood ." Alice Turner half-jokingly and half-seriously replied, she’s always thought Lily Turner was too thin. She used to advise Lily to eat more and not always think about dieting.
But Lily Turner always responded with a reason: as a model, she has to maintain her figure at all tis.
Every ti Alice Turner heard Lily say that, she could only sigh and say nothing else, because she knew whatever she said would be in vain.
Lily Turner knew from the start that her sister was joking with her, so she wasn’t particularly pleased, "Thanks for your good wishes, I will definitely beco more and more beautiful in the future, haha... Am I being too narcissistic?"
After saying that, she laughed heartily.
Easton Hols walked in just in ti to hear Lily Turner’s laughter. He stared for a mont to confirm that she was on a phone call.
It had just startled him, thinking that she had been provoked and lost her mind.
"Laughing like this, whose call is it?"
Seeing her so happy, he couldn’t help but ask when he approached.
When Easton Hols walked in, Lily Turner had already seen him, and as he approached, she responded, "It’s my sister calling."
