Tomorrow is the big wedding day for Lily Turner and Easton Hols, and Alice Turner doesn’t want to talk about these things now. Her issues with Benjamin Shaw would affect everyone’s good mood.
"It’s fine, of course, it’s fine."
Alice Turner spoke as she started the engine. She glanced at Lily Turner and reminded her, seeing that Lily had not yet put on her seatbelt, "Hurry up and buckle your seatbelt, I’m about to set off."
She looked at her sister and only after her sister fastened her seatbelt did she turn back to look straight ahead and drive towards the exit of the community.
Lily Turner could tell that Alice was avoiding her, brushing her off just now, as her sister didn’t want to be honest with her.
Not just honesty, her sister didn’t want to ntion their issues at all.
The more her sister acted like this, the more Lily felt there was sothing going on, sothing very serious.
"Sis! I feel like you’re a bit distant from now, not treating like your closest sister anymore." She hadn’t noticed any other signs of distancing in other aspects, but in this matter, she felt her sister was deliberately keeping her distance, hiding tightly, afraid she’d find out sothing.
"You’ve always been my closest sister, and I’ve never distanced myself from you, you must be imagining things." Alice knew very well why Lily would say such things, and because she understood, she responded to her sister like this.
She didn’t want to tell her sister about the issues between her and that man, she just felt now wasn’t the right ti. She wanted to wait until she was divorced from that man to talk to her sister about it.
Upon hearing this, Lily Turner slid over to the driving Alice Turner, "Since you consider your closest sister, tell the truth now. How are things between you and him? Don’t brush off."
She didn’t want to hear vague responses like "it’s fine." She wanted to hear her sister talk about their true situation now.
"I’ve already told you, things between us are fine. I’m not brushing you off, I’m telling you the truth." Of course, Alice Turner could understand what Lily was thinking, knowing her sister was concerned and worried about her, she felt deeply moved and warm inside.
With these words, Lily’s hopeful gaze suddenly dimd, "Sis! You’re still brushing off."
Another "it’s fine"—it sounded exactly like a brush-off.
"I’m not."
Alice Turner imdiately denied it, as if the words were already on the tip of her tongue, ready for when Lily finished speaking.
She thought responding promptly would make her sister believe her, not realizing this only increased her sister’s suspicions.
By the ti she realized it, it was too late; there was no way to take back her words and start over.
Lily Turner stared at Alice for a while, and after a long ti, finally spoke, "He’s not good to you."
She sensed this from her sister’s earlier reactions, and was quite sure of the information she obtained, with no major deviation.
"Stop making wild guesses, I’m telling the truth."
Alice Turner pretended to casually turn her head to glance at Lily Turner, but after just one look, she didn’t feel well, her head aching instantly.
Her sister was staring at her intently, looking as if she wouldn’t give up until Alice told the truth.
