"I'm going up to find that girl."
Amber Wood had just left, and Sophia Wood was about to go upstairs to find Lily Turner, but as soon as she stood up, Alice Turner grabbed her imdiately. Sophia looked back in confusion, "What's wrong?"
"Mom! Lily must be really upset right now, we better not go up and disturb her. Just let her have so peace in the room." Alice Turner stood up from the sofa, tightly grabbing Sophia Wood, preventing her from suddenly breaking free to go upstairs and find Lily. Everyone's mood is bad now, and eting face-to-face could easily lead to conflict.
Sophia Wood didn't insist on going upstairs to find Lily Turner. She was stunned for a mont and then sat back down on the sofa with Alice Turner, "Alice! Tell the truth, did you know about Lily calling off the engagent beforehand?"
The two sisters are usually so close. There are things that might not be shared with their mother but definitely with this unreserved sister.
"Mom! I absolutely didn't know about this beforehand." Alice Turner waved her hand repeatedly, and after telling the truth, she suddenly regretted it, "Mom! You can't bla Lily for this. Lily loves Henry Thompson so much, and if he hadn't done such a thing, Lily would never have gone to the Thompson Family to break off the engagent."
Others might not know, but she knows very well how deep her sister's feelings are for that man; her sister wouldn't marry anyone but him.
"How could that Henry Thompson do that? Of all people, he chose Lily's best friend." Upon hearing Alice Turner ntion the affair between Henry Thompson and Jenny York, Sophia Wood imdiately felt a surge of anger, "And that Jenny York, how could she steal her best friend's fiancé?"
As she spoke, she angrily slapped the empty space beside her.
Upon hearing this, Alice Turner helplessly pouted. Her mom was too angry to think straight; infidelity is never acceptable, regardless of who it's with.
"Mom! Let's not ntion those two people anymore. Lily has already blacklisted them since that day." All the phone numbers and such have been blocked, but can her sister really stop thinking about that man? She doesn't believe it.
"I know."
All Sophia Wood said was that she understood and then fell silent, her eyes unblinkingly fixed on the TV in front of her, pretending to be absorbed in watching it.
However, Alice Turner, sitting next to her, could tell she wasn't watching TV but rely staring blankly at it.
"Mom! I'm going to the bathroom."
Sophia Wood was lost in her thoughts, completely oblivious to Alice Turner's words. Seeing her staring motionlessly at the TV, Alice Turner shook her head helplessly yet worriedly, got up, and left the living room to go upstairs.
Unaware of what was happening downstairs, Lily Turner lay in her room staring blankly at the plain white ceiling. This state continued until Alice Turner pushed the door open and ca in.
Thunk!
Hearing movent at the door, Lily Turner instinctively turned her head to look, and upon seeing Alice Turner enter, she slowly sat up on the bed, "Sis!"
"Here! Have so water!"
When Alice Turner went upstairs earlier, she went to the kitchen to pour Lily a glass of water. As she approached, she handed the glass to her.
"Sis! You're always so good to !"
Looking at the glass of water Alice handed over, Lily Turner broke down in tears.
