Thomas Fisher did not leave, which Isla Lane discovered upon returning to the private room. After entering and seeing him still seated, her brows furrowed imdiately.
Didn’t that guy leave? Why is he still sitting here in the private room?
Earlier, her daughter-in-law didn’t seem to be lying when she spoke, so what’s really going on?
With a belly full of questions, Isla walked to her seat, glanced at Thomas Fisher, who was drinking with Alexander Shaw and Christopher Turner, and then bent over to sit down.
"Mother-in-law! Hurry up and eat; the dishes are getting cold." As Isla sat down, Sophia Wood tilted her head and looked over, pointing at the dishes on the plate with her chopsticks, signaling her to eat.
From the mont she saw Thomas Fisher laughing and chatting with Alice Turner, Isla’s heart filled with worry. Troubled inside, she wasn’t in the mood to eat. She only picked at a few bites before putting down her chopsticks.
"Is it not to your taste? What would you like to eat? I’ll have the waiter get the nu so you can order sothing else." Seeing that Isla had only taken a few bites before putting down her chopsticks, the unaware Sophia Wood assud the dishes weren’t to her liking.
Isla reached out to stop Sophia from calling the waiter to get the nu, preventing her from ordering anew, "I like these dishes very much; I’m just not very hungry today."
Not being hungry was indeed true, but the main reason she didn’t want to eat was because sothing was on her mind, sothing she couldn’t share with the people around her.
Sophia saw that Isla didn’t seem to be lying and completely believed what she said, so she didn’t insist on calling the waiter to order more food.
Seeing that her mother-in-law wasn’t eating, as the hostess of the gathering, she couldn’t just continue eating by herself, so she put down her chopsticks and accompanied her mother-in-law in conversation.
The situation between Isla and Sophia was fully watched by Thomas Fisher. From the mont Isla pushed the door and ca in, he had been discreetly observing her.
Seeing her frown as soon as she saw him still there, he knew very well that she didn’t want him to remain here.
As for why she didn’t want him here, he had already figured it out while he was in the hallway earlier, but his heart wouldn’t let him leave. He was acting according to his heart.
Thomas had been given an eviction order by Alice Turner earlier, but he didn’t leave as she wanted. Instead, he played a little trick behind her back, telling her he’d co into the private room to say goodbye to Christopher Turner and the others before leaving, which he didn’t do at all.
Once he entered the private room, he didn’t ntion his departure at all. He ca over and sat back in the seat he had just occupied, drinking with Christopher Turner, Alexander Shaw, and the other two n.
As for the situation in the private room, Alice Turner was completely unaware. In her mind, Thomas Fisher had already left and she couldn’t have imagined that the person she had just evicted was now drinking in the private room with her father and father-in-law.
It wasn’t until half an hour later that this situation ca to light.
After the other guests in the private rooms had finished eating and drinking, they got up and left. Alice promptly went over to greet them and, after doing so, went to the main guest’s private room to call her parents to see the guests off.
Opening the door, as she was about to call out to her parents, she saw Thomas Fisher sitting beside her father. He had one hand on her father’s shoulder, and she didn’t know what he was saying, but her father was smiling like a blooming flower.
"Dad! Mom! My uncle is leaving now."
She stood at the door of the private room, called inside, gestured slightly, and then stepped back out.
