"Honey! Why did you pout just now?"
After hanging up the phone, Easton Hols pulled Lily Turner over and asked her about the pout he just saw.
Lily Turner’s little pout was an unconscious action, even she didn’t realize it. Hearing Easton Hols ask her like this, she was completely puzzled, "When did I pout? Did you see it?"
She looked up at him with a face full of confusion.
"Of course I saw it, just when I was on the phone." Easton Hols initially thought Lily Turner was pretending to be oblivious on purpose, but seeing her expression, it didn’t seem like an act, and now he was confused.
"Well, then it must be your eyes deceiving you."
Lily really didn’t realize she had pouted just now and blad it all on Easton Hols seeing things.
Seeing her like this, he no longer pressed the matter, as his mind was occupied with more important things.
"Alright, fine, it was my eyes deceiving . Can you go to the trunk and get the flashlight so I can see you clearly?" Easton Hols pushed Lily towards the trunk, but she dodged to the side, refusing to get it, "Are you crazy? Using a flashlight to see clearly."
She stood her ground, not willing to get it, making him slightly anxious, though it didn’t show on his face.
Lily truly believed Easton wanted her to get a flashlight, but his trunk contained sothing special, which he couldn’t reveal just yet.
He was planning to use the previous topic to get her to open the trunk, but she refused entirely, and he couldn’t force her.
"Honey! It’s not good to curse, you know."
Easton Hols reached out to pinch Lily’s cheek, changing his tactic and began coaxing her, "Be good! Listen, go get it, there’s a surprise."
He deliberately added the part about a surprise, just to give a hint to her confused state.
A surprise?!
Lily stared at Easton for a mont, and suddenly her mind flashed back to the events of the afternoon. She instantly recalled sothing, her face showing disbelief, quickly replaced by delight and a hint of shyness.
"Oh, you tease!"
She playfully smacked him for the suspense, then walked towards the car’s trunk.
Easton Hols slowly followed her. The mont Lily opened the trunk, he kneeled beside her on one knee.
The trunk was filled with a box of red roses, and among the sea of red flowers, there was a heart made of red LED lights. The heart-shaped light ring lit up as Rosie opened the trunk.
Amid the red lights, she saw a pink box placed at the center of the heart. The box was open, revealing a sparkling diamond ring inside.
"Today, I propose to you with a soldier’s courage and a soldier’s loyalty."
Easton Hols’s voice suddenly rang beside her. Lily Turner slowly turned her head towards the sound and froze for a mont, "You, you..."
Seeing him kneeling on one knee in front of her, she was so excited that she didn’t know what to say.
"Darling! Let stand in front of you through all the storms and give you the most secure protection. Please accept my proposal."
Easton Hols knew Lily Turner was extrely excited now, but wasn’t he as well? Besides excitent, he felt nervous. His voice carried a noticeable tremor, though he wasn’t quite sure what exactly he was nervous about.
