"Take your car."
Hearing Easton Hols’ stiff voice, Valentina’s hand instinctively froze in mid-air. It took her a long ti to co to her senses. She lowered her hand that had been stuck in the air and looked incredulously at him standing on the other side of the car.
Easton Hols didn’t even glance at her and got into the car before she could speak. "I don’t want to say it a second ti."
After getting in the car, he forcefully slamd the door and started the engine as soon as he settled into his seat.
To Valentina, Easton Hols seed like a stranger now. Although he hadn’t been overly enthusiastic with her in the past, he hadn’t been this cold either. His deanor was several tis colder than before.
Beep!
As Valentina stood there in a daze, Easton Hols honked the horn. Instinctively, she glanced at him in the car and saw his face still cold. Her heart felt icy cold.
Seeing this, Valentina realized she wouldn’t be getting in his car today. She turned and walked toward her own car parked nearby.
Just as Valentina got into her car, she saw Easton Hols driving away slowly towards the compound gate.
Seeing this, Valentina dared not delay and quickly started her engine, driving to catch up with him.
When she caught up, Easton Hols gradually increased his speed, perhaps worried she wouldn’t keep up. He maintained a steady pace.
The two cars drove out of the Military District Compound one after the other, then headed south.
After driving for so distance on the road, they stopped at a small square.
It was a cold winter evening with piercing winds, so the square was completely deserted.
After parking, Easton Hols got out of the car and casually found a spot to wait for Valentina. It didn’t take long before she got out and walked over to him.
On the way there, Valentina thought of many things to say. But when she got out and stood before Easton Hols, she suddenly didn’t know what to say.
"I’ve already registered my marriage with Lily Turner. Please don’t co looking for anymore, and don’t look for Lily either," Easton Hols hesitated for a mont, then spoke bluntly.
Although Valentina had learned of this from those two anonymous letters, hearing it from Easton Hols himself still made her heart ache painfully.
"Why marry that woman? Weren’t you going to marry ?" Valentina took a step closer, narrowing the distance between her and Easton Hols, but he instinctively stepped back.
Easton Hols maintained his previous cold attitude, looking at the woman just a step away. "What’s between us is completely in the past. My wife now is Lily Turner, and I love my wife."
When he said ’I love my wife,’ he said it with determination and very naturally, as though it rolled off his tongue effortlessly.
"You love that woman? Did you ever love ?"
During their ti together, Valentina never heard Easton Hols say ’I love you.’ She hadn’t even heard him say ’I like you.’
Back then, she thought he was just naturally taciturn and aloof, the kind who wouldn’t easily say things like ’I love you.’
But today, he not only said it, but said it with such natural affection.
He claid to love that woman, yet they hadn’t been together long. Valentina and Easton had been in a relationship for over a year.
What charm did that woman have?
The things Valentina couldn’t achieve in over a year, that woman had accomplished in just a few short months.
