At exactly nine in the morning, Easton Hols set off. This was the pickup ti he discussed with Michael and Callix Linton last night. In addition to his good brothers, a few of his closest comrades were also part of the wedding convoy.
Other than the car with Easton Hols, driven by Luke Crowe, everyone else drove their own cars, and each person drove one car. This fleet of a dozen cars left the Military District Compound mightily and sped towards the Turner Family’s estate in Danxi.
"Boss! Are you super nervous or what?"
Luke Crowe straightened up, glanced at Easton Hols in the rearview mirror, and noticed that his boss had been wearing a tense expression ever since getting into the car, looking really nervous.
Easton Hols leaned over and tapped the back of the driver’s seat, speaking in a cold voice, "Focus on driving, don’t be so distracted."
"That’s an order!"
After he finished speaking, he made sure to add that it was an order.
"Yes!"
Having spent years in the barracks, Luke Crowe reflexively straightened up upon hearing those four words "that’s an order," habitually switching to a serious expression and responding with a loud "yes."
But as soon as he replied, he rembered they were there to attend their captain’s wedding, and the coach said that today they could be informal with the captain, and if anything went wrong, the coach would take responsibility.
"Boss! Today is your big day with sis-in-law, you can’t be so serious, the atmosphere should be more lively." With the coach covering them, Luke Crowe relaxed when speaking but still cautious of the person behind him, speaking in a relaxed yet not too relaxed manner.
Easton Hols shot a cold glance at Luke Crowe. Seeing Luke’s deanor, he knew Jaxon Dyer must have told them sothing behind his back.
He opened his mouth, ready to scold Luke, but considering today was his and Lily’s big day, he swallowed those words.
"Play so music."
He wasn’t planning to chit-chat with this brat, wasn’t it about livening up the atmosphere? Car music would solve that problem.
"Uh? Oh!"
Luke Crowe wasn’t unclear about what Easton Hols said; it was because he heard it clearly that he was surprised, and after the surprise, he quickly understood.
His captain didn’t want to talk, opting to use the car music to address the atmosphere. His captain was so dull, how did his sister-in-law tolerate him?
Seeing that there’s no sign of the car music being played, and noticing Luke whispering sothing to himself while staring straight ahead, Easton Hols suddenly leaned over, "Brat! What bad things are you whispering about again?"
As he spoke, he reached up and gave soone’s head a pat.
"Boss! Can you not scare people like that?"
Easton Hols often startled people like this, and Luke Crowe had grown used to it, becoming immune to his captain’s antics.
"If you don’t want to be scared, just focus on driving."
Whether Luke was scared or not, Easton Hols could see clearly; if the soldiers he trained were so timid and slow to react, what use were they to keep around, maybe as fence posts?
"Got it."
His captain was beyond hope!
Luke Crowe silently sighed in his heart and reached out to turn on the car music since his captain didn’t want to engage, he could only listen to music.
Easton Hols sat back down, took his phone out of his pocket, flipped to the photo Athena Linton had sent earlier, and started admiring it alone.
The car was unusually quiet, and Luke was a bit puzzled, secretly straightening up to glance at the rearview mirror.
Oh my word!
His captain was staring at his phone, grinning like an idiot.
