After hearing what Lily Turner said, Easton Hols realized that she leaned over to explain to Luke Crowe. How could she think Luke was angry? That guy wasn’t so easily upset; they were just joking with him earlier.
"Sis-in-law! I’m not angry, because I knew you and the boss were just joking with earlier. I was just ssing around, too." Luke Crowe never thought Lily would think he was upset, let alone explain herself to him, which made him feel a bit apologetic for the misunderstanding.
He specifically turned back to clarify things to her, insisting he wasn’t angry earlier at all.
Seeing Luke turn back to explain, Lily was a bit skeptical of his words but didn’t say anything. She just silently watched him and the man sitting next to her.
Seeing this, Easton Hols imdiately guessed what Lily was thinking. He reached out and pinched her cheek, "Stop overthinking. He’s not as timid as you think, and I’m not as scary as you think."
Did his wife really think that the kid in front didn’t dare to tell the truth because he was scared? Did he look that intimidating?
"No?"
Lily tilted her head to look at the man beside her, her face clearly showing disbelief.
"No..."
Bang, bang, bang!
Soone suddenly knocked on the car window, interrupting Easton’s words. Instinctively, the three inside the car turned their heads toward the sound and saw Alice Turner at the back door on the driver’s side, peering inside.
"It’s my sister."
Realizing it was Alice, Easton, sitting by the car door, rolled down the window. Lily quickly leaned over, looking up at her sister outside, "Sis! What’s up?"
As she spoke, she moved a bit toward the door, but there was soone between them, limiting her movent.
Seeing the window go down, Alice quickly raised the hand holding the thermal container, "Mom asked to bring you so food so you can eat on the road. Just in case you get too busy to eat later and end up hungry."
Saying that, she handed the thermal container through the window.
"I’m not hungry."
After eating so much breakfast and snacking on fruits in the kitchen earlier, Lily didn’t feel hungry at all. But since it was her mom’s thoughtful gesture, she accepted the thermal container offered by Alice.
Alice bent down and looked at her, saying, "Even if you’re not hungry, eat a little. There will be a ti when you will be."
Being experienced, she knew that brides and grooms at weddings rarely have ti to eat. She herself had suffered from not eating enough at her own wedding.
She couldn’t let her sister suffer the sa fate. Her sister wasn’t like her; she had a strong body from regular exercise, but Lily had a delicate body, especially now that she’s pregnant.
"Got it, sis! Drive safe."
"Mm! I’m leaving now."
After waving goodbye to each other, Alice turned to her car, and Lily sat there with the thermal container, looking troubled.
"I’m not hungry at all. Are you? How about you eat it for ?" As Lily straightened up with the container, she suddenly ca up with an idea: let Easton eat the food her mom prepared for her. She didn’t even bother to check what kind of food it was before making this decision.
Easton didn’t refuse, but he also didn’t take the thermal container from Lily’s hand. He just looked at her, "Sure! You feed ."
