Alice Turner was clearly on the defensive, everyone present could see she was overtly protecting her younger brother, William Turner.
Athena Linton glanced at William Turner, who was behind Alice Turner, then shifted her gaze to Easton Hols standing nearby. "Brother! I’m getting bullied here, how can you just stand by and watch?"
She wanted her own brother to teach that brat a lesson, and she acted as pitifully as she could to gain sympathy.
Just as Easton Hols was about to speak, he suddenly felt soone pinching his arm hard. He didn’t need to look to know who the culprit was.
"Didn’t you already get revenge for yourself earlier? Enough! Don’t go overboard." That was his brother-in-law, after all; he couldn’t afford to offend him!
"Whose brother are you, mine or his? Why are you siding with him?" Athena Linton had expected her brother would help her get revenge, but instead, it turned out this way. She pouted to show her dissatisfaction with Easton Hols.
Once she said this, Easton Hols’ three good friends all felt a bit nervous for him. However, Easton himself remained calm and composed, as if this didn’t affect his mood at all.
"You’re my sister, and he’s my brother. You’re both equally close to ." He phrased it so skillfully, pleasing both parties without offending either.
Husband! You’re amazing!
Lily Turner gave her husband a ntal thumbs up, tilting her head to look at him with an uncontrollable smile on her face.
Seeing the smile on his wife’s face, Easton Hols knew that what he said just now made her very satisfied. His wife was pleased, but was his sister?
Easton Hols’ concern was not unfounded; Athena Linton was unhappy with his response, casting a dissatisfied glance at the brother siding with her brother-in-law, before shifting her pleading gaze to Thomas Fisher. "Brother Thomas! You..."
"You must be hungry, right? Co on! I’ll take you to the cafeteria to eat."
When Athena Linton looked his way, Thomas Fisher knew what she wanted. Before she could even get the words out, he preemptively interrupted her.
He wasn’t just all talk; he followed through with action, stepping over to pull her up and head towards the direction of the cafeteria.
Athena Linton instinctively struggled, but when she saw Thomas Fisher winking at her, she imdiately stopped resisting and obediently followed him to the cafeteria.
Seeing his sister obediently following his good friend, Easton Hols finally felt relieved, reaching out to hold Lily Turner’s hand. "Honey! We should get going too, the guests are waiting for us to toast them."
The guests had gone ahead; it wouldn’t look good if the two of them didn’t hurry over as well.
"Oh."
Lily Turner only gave an "oh," as a response to Easton Hols.
After responding to her husband, she didn’t imdiately follow him but instead called out to the three people she was concerned about nearby, "Sis! Hazel! William! Let’s go."
When she called out to the three she cared for, she glanced at Benjamin Shaw and Ryan Taylor. Although these two n were her husband’s good friends, she wasn’t sure how to face them.
One was supposed to be her brother-in-law, but wouldn’t be for long, and she had never liked him much.
The other, while a cousin, she couldn’t quite let go of her feelings towards the Taylor Family just yet.
She didn’t want to force herself, nor could she manage a kind of empty-hearted pretense.
