Thomas Fisher didn’t voice any opinion on Alice Turner’s arrangent. He just turned his head to look at her, then turned back without a word and focused on driving. He no longer initiated conversation with her.
The man suddenly beca quiet while driving, and Alice Turner was sowhat unaccustod to it at first. She turned slightly to look at him.
Even though she could only see one side of his face, she could tell he was tense, with his lips tightly pressed, as if he was unhappy.
Noticing that Thomas Fisher seed unhappy, Alice Turner felt very uncomfortable inside. Instinctively, she wanted to open her mouth to apologize or say sothing.
But just as she opened her mouth, she suddenly rembered what Benjamin Shaw told her yesterday, and she closed her just-opened mouth.
Forget it! Let it be!
Alice Turner withdrew her gaze from Thomas Fisher, sat back in her seat, and stared at the windshield as she recalled so mories.
When Alice Turner turned slightly, Thomas Fisher noticed it from the corner of his eye. He didn’t miss her hesitant expression either.
As she withdrew her gaze, he subtly gave her a look. Seeing her staring at the windshield, lost in thought, he let out an inaudible sigh.
Neither of them spoke again. One focused on driving, the other on staring at the windshield and thinking.
The car was unusually quiet, but the silence didn’t feel awkward or uncomfortable. Instead, it had a kind of harmonious beauty.
After a little over ten minutes, the car stopped in front of a breakfast shop.
Alice Turner was so deep in thought that she didn’t notice the car had stopped until Thomas Fisher parked and turned towards her.
He stared at her for a while. Seeing she didn’t move at all, he gently reached out and nudged her.
Suddenly feeling soone nudge her, Alice Turner snapped out of her thoughts and realized the car had stopped.
She tilted her head to glance outside the window. The sign in front of the breakfast shop imdiately caught her eye, and she blurted out, "We’re here already."
Feeling a bit embarrassed, she hesitated to look at him and naturally opened the car door and got out of the car.
Am I that scary?
Seeing Alice Turner get out of the car as if fleeing, Thomas Fisher shook his head helplessly. Not wanting to overthink, he promptly got out of the car as well.
They walked into the breakfast shop one after the other. By this ti, the breakfast rush was over, and there weren’t many custors inside. They sat down at an empty window-side table.
"What would you like to eat?"
As soon as the waiter saw custors enter, they walked over imdiately.
"Mixed Porridge! Dumplings!"
Alice Turner imdiately said what she wanted to eat. After ordering, she looked at Thomas Fisher sitting across from her. But before she could ask what he wanted, he said to the waiter, "I’ll have the sa."
This annoying man! Can’t he order sothing else?
Hearing the man order the sa thing, Alice Turner muttered in her heart, dissatisfied.
"Please wait a mont!"
The waiter quickly turned and went to prepare their als. In no ti, the breakfast was laid out on the table for them.
For various reasons, Thomas Fisher and Alice Turner hadn’t eaten dinner last night, and they were both starving.
Once breakfast was served, neither of them hesitated and began to satisfy their rumbling stomachs.
