Lily Turner’s support and expectations were sothing Alice Turner had anticipated, but Sophia Wood’s support was unexpected. What surprised her even more was that just now, downstairs, Sophia spoke up for her, a stark contrast to how she had once forced her to marry that man.
"Mom! Lily! Thank you both, you both treat so well." Alice Turner reached out and pulled Lily Turner into a hug, the three of them embracing as a family.

"Sis! What are you doing? Answer the phone," Lily said, gently pushing Alice to remind her to pick up.
Alice quickly gathered her thoughts, glanced at Lily, and replied with a nod: "Oh, I’ll answer it now."
She deliberately delayed, reaching into her pocket slowly, hoping the call would hang up automatically.
When she finally touched the phone, it was still buzzing. At that mont, she really wanted to crush it, but she didn’t have the strength.
Under the watchful eyes of Sophia Wood and Lily Turner, Alice pulled the phone from her pocket. Just as she did, the buzzing stopped, and she breathed a sigh of relief.
She checked the phone imdiately. As expected, it was that clingy person calling. Worried he might call again, she quickly pressed the power button when the two weren’t looking.
After turning off the phone, Alice put it back in her pocket, explaining, "It’s a strange number, probably another sales call. I’m not bothered."
